As the Pitching Director of a large facility, it’s important we do NOT dilute our program. 0 arms in my career have undergone surgery (8 years) We have tripled in size since March, yet all of our sessions remain capped at 4 individuals Each session has 2 coaches & every rep performed by an athlete is watched (1 coach per 2 athletes) A large amount of injuries in throwers can be prevented by individualizing athlete’s programs & not placing them all into the same bucket. This is the only way to push boundaries while mitigating risk Throwers (especially at the HS level) latch onto poor movement patterns for short term gains. It’s my job to reinforce longevity & projection. I want these guys playing for 15 more years, not 3 Pitching is a sequence of niche movements executed at the perfect time. Your workload & program should be dependent on your body structure, mobility & strength This requires our coaches to build relationships with each athlete so there’s a 2 way street of honest communication Our athlete’s development will remain the priority
