if we are to revive web3 gaming, we gonna do it through learning from the past we will neither say just fun, nor just rewards, nor we will be about giving a bunch of people paid deals so they make written content about us we will rise through the clips, because people really wanna share it, we will ease the path to shareable content through attention to certain details, people will know there will be a web3 economy, ownership, but most important a game that can onboard gamers from outside of this place because for a great game, and web3 parts to rise you really want a growing player base, and that won't come from a 3 day ponzi if you're a web3 gaming creator simply clip more, share your clips not just on X but also in other platforms, that's how we will regain the attention and then sprinkle what web3 offers on top of that, that's the way this space will expand once again

I want to build a community.
A Web3 game having 100,000 followers doesn't mean it has a community. Neither does having 50,000 Discord members. A community is built around people who actually care about what you're creating. People who play your game, give feedback, create content and support the project even when there are no rewards involved. I'd much rather have 1,000 genuine players than 100,000 people waiting for an airdrop.

DEVLOG #2 It's been a while since my last update on the game, but our developer has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes. The game has changed a lot since the first gameplay video I shared, and one of the biggest transformations has been its visual identity. We've completely reworked: - Assets - Tilesets - Cards - UI/UX - HUD Honestly, this was one of the most challenging parts of the project. None of us had any previous experience in this area, so we had to learn everything from scratch. We spent weeks researching assets, studying pixel art, generating concepts, generating and creating sprites until we finally reached a visual style that feels right and truly matches the atmosphere and theme of the game. There's still a LOT to polish, improve, and build, but it feels like we've finally found the direction we want to follow. Beyond the visual overhaul, the game already features: - Multiplayer (yes, you'll be able to play with your friends!) - 5 playable stages - 5 unique characters - Multiple cards, with card rarities coming soon - Autoplay and some more features If you'd like to test the game and share your feedback, just follow the page @LGCTactics and @Lgc_GG for upcoming events and AmA. I'll start posting regular updates there, along with our roadmap and upcoming features. Oh, and we also applied to a game competition hosted by @loadoutprotocol . Wish us luck! 🍀 Stay tuned, there's much more to come!
DEVLOG #1? Maybe this is a devlog 🫠 Today, after almost 20 different versions of the prototype, we’re finally getting close to the balance I envision for the game. Something challenging, with more aggressive and smarter enemies that present real danger. There’s still a lot to polish, but seeing my characters fall in battle and the enemies increasing every turn gave me that feeling of “I need to finish this stage quickly.” That’s exactly the kind of feeling I want players to experience. What our dev @naoeofeldima has managed to deliver in just one week of development is something from another world.

Games are an art form, something fun to enjoy after a tiring day, a place where you can make friends and become part of a community. That is what we strive for in @farmricochet
Eh... The answer to this is a hard No. I'm aware this may upset some people but if your only reason to play a game is to turn a profit, then you are an opportunitist not a gamer. And if your answer is "if I want fun I'll go play web2 games" then please, go do that and while you're at it delete your X and stop wasting people's time. Real gamers dont care about what chain a game is on / what the chart looks like, if we are having fun then that's enough for us. Making money while having fun should be a bonus not the reason. The biggest issue is that people do not want web3 gaming to succeed. They want their bags to succeed and couldnt give a shit what happens to the industry. Take a look at certain chain "maxis" stating they won't play a game because it isn't on their chain. Lies, you won't play/support it because it wouldn't benefit your bag. Gaming in this space will not succeed until we stop this separation between chains and stop putting bags before the game. PS: Daewron posts some great takes make sure to follow him!

Are Web3 players really gamers? The concept of being a gamer gradually faded when we started seeing the games entering the ecosystem as products where the only thing that mattered was the financial opportunity, leaving the gaming experience in the background. This applies to both players and developers. In one way or another, we've all been part of this shift at some point in history. @Ronin_Network

The next massive Web3 game might not even need a token. And I think more teams should seriously consider that. Build a fun game, create a player driven economy around items people genuinely value and generate revenue from the activity happening inside it.

no fim: jogos tem que ser jogos! web3 no farm ricochet é sobre dar mais ownership pro player, não sobre transformar o jogo em um produto financeiro
When we decided to integrate web3 technology into Farm Ricochet and become part of Ronin Network, following our showcase with @JaseTheWizard and @enefetero, our intention was to bring digital ownership and decentralized infrastructure into our players' experience. We wanted our players to have a greater sense of ownership over their assets and progress, giving them possibilities that go beyond the traditional gaming experience. But that's what web3 represents to us, an opportunity to expand what a game can offer, not to replace what makes it worth playing in the first place. Farm Ricochet exists, and will always exist, to be an enjoyable game. Our purpose has never been to create a financial opportunity disguised as a game. We believe that a well developed game, cared for by both its developers and its community, can naturally bring value to its digital assets. But that value should be a consequence of an engaging and enjoyable gaming experience, never its sole purpose. Yes, we will have events with USDC denominated prizes paid in $RON. But these opportunities should come as a result of Farm Ricochet's growth and the sustainability of its economy. Our upcoming Beta event is an example of this. A significant part of it became possible thanks to the fees generated by player-to-player market transactions, which reached a volume of $18,316 during Alpha. We see these events as a way of giving something back to the players who have accompanied us throughout our different stages, not as financial promises or incentives to keep people playing. We want players to choose Farm Ricochet because they enjoy it. We want them to feel comfortable leaving the game running in idle mode while studying, working, or taking care of their daily lives, simply because they enjoy having it as part of their routine. At the same time, we recognize the players who enter with economic motivations. They also have a place in this ecosystem. Their participation can help satisfy the needs of players who want to progress faster or go beyond what their own available playtime allows. Both can coexist and contribute to one another. But we believe the foundation of that relationship must always be a game worth playing. We don't believe Web3 games should have to choose between being enjoyable games and having functioning digital economies. We believe both can coexist, as long as we never lose sight of what should come first: the gaming experience. @Ronin_Network

Farm Ricochet é um jogo, não um investimento. A blockchain facilita a negociação dos ativos e permite que os jogadores sejam donos deles. Joguem pela diversão e gastem só o que podem, sem esperar retorno financeiro.

Farm Ricohcet is a GAME, not a place you should join solely to try and make a profit, our goal is to create a long-lasting, fun game where you might earn a little extra cash while having a good time. The world deserves to ricochet. #RicochetLifeStyle

Ronin has endured situations where many others would have disappeared. It has people who, despite numerous attempts to bury it, continue to stand their ground, show up, and support everyone willing to move forward and build. Jihoz is a clear example of that. However, no matter how resilient @Ronin_Network has proven to be, and no matter how essential people like @Jihoz_Axie are to its continued existence, there is only so much that a handful of people can do when the burden always falls on the same shoulders. Meanwhile, much of the community remains behind a screen, scrolling through news, looking for the next big "opportunity." But when the ecosystem actually needs people to show up, show interest, and offer their support, many are simply nowhere to be found. A few days ago, @JaseTheWizard said something that inspired me to write this, and I genuinely believe he has a point: if we had made ourselves available and contributed our own little bit much earlier, we could have made a tremendous difference. I say this from personal experience as well, having contributed to the development of an independent game that will soon become part of Ronin. We don't need to blindly applaud everything that happens. We can question, debate, and criticize, as long as we do so respectfully and with the intention of providing feedback that helps things improve. But we need to understand something, we cannot expect a handful of people to build the opportunities that millions of others are waiting to find. If we want to see Ronin grow, we also need to be willing to build alongside it.
