If there is nothing to hide, let the public see your cell phone records. If Cllr Stutt wasn’t aware the firing of the Chief was going to be a bombshell with public backlash, what announcement could be more newsworthy? Oh right, the part about the Mayor knowing and not knowing!
Mike Starchuk today asked Surrey Connect Councillor Rob Stutt to tell voters whether he discussed Chief Norm Lipinski’s employment with Mayor Brenda Locke before the Surrey Police Board meeting... Read more: imaginesurrey.ca/news/what-d… #ImagineSurrey #SurreyBC

Some SPS Board members knew something big was going to happen days before firing the Police Chief amidst an extortion crisis and now it seems the Mayor was aware. If she wasn’t alerted by Cllr Stutt, who was chairing the meeting, then she can submit cellphone records to prove it.
In an extraordinary admission at the CKNW Surrey Mayoral debate, Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke blurted out, “I knew that they had an important meeting” in the lead up to the firing of Norm Lipinski. Read more: imaginesurrey.ca/news/brenda…

Ask yourself why did the Mayor wait until the end of her term to announce "big things" and other promises that aren't in a 5-year capital project budget? Who just woke up from a 8-year snooze and noticed the residents of Cloverdale don't have an indoor aquatic facility?
When the Mayor authorized the spending of $250,000.00 to announce the big things that are happening, did she announce the cost of those “Big Thing” signs? Why did it take 3 ½ years to make an announcement without letting us know what some of those big things are going to cost the Surrey Taxpayer? #SurreyBC #ImagineSurrey

Organized Crime & Money Laundering are at the core of Extortion. Imagine Surrey is committed to: > Tougher licensing for cash businesses & crypto ATMs > Further restrictions on predatory payday lending > Stronger procurement transparency: keep dirty money out of City Hall > No new casinos -- full stop > World-class restoration of Cloverdale Fairgrounds, with existing casino > Partner to implement Cullen Report vs Money Laundering #BCpoli #SurreyBC #PublicSafety

8 years ago the Giants talked to Surrey about a large stadium while designing rinks in Bridgeview on city land. Different Mayor, Councillors & senior staff could see the only risks were to the City. Now, selling off future assets is risk free? Tons of ?’s @CKNW @GlobalBC #bcpoli

We appreciate to work being done by @TransLink for BRT planning along KGHWY but it needs another planned stop near #10 HWY to begin the network needed to move people out of their cars and onto transit. #changethatworksforyou #ImagineSurrey #SurreyBC #bcpoli
Mike Starchuk and Imagine Surrey are the only municipal party advocating for a public transit network we can build now, and afford to pay for: 3 new Bus Rapid Transit routes, a BRT Station at King George and HWY 10, and a start to the business case for King George SkyTrain: #changethatworksforyou #imaginesurrey #surreybc #dobetter #bcpoli

Today is not just a "photo stop" but rather a 5K walk with Curtis M on my mind. A big crowd and plenty of folks warming up before the walk. More than 5 years ago I began a journey to become a living donor. While I was not a successful donor candidate for Curtis, the journey and the knowing Curtis was able to get a viable kidney, lives with me today. #Kidneydisease #Kidneyhealth #Kidneywalk

When the SPS Board uses an inexperienced hand picked (in 1 case, a cousin of the Mayor's staff) group to make these IRRESPONSIBLE rookie decisions amidst an extortion crisis, it sends 3 messages. We don't care about fiscal responsibility, public safety or labour relations.#bcpoli
Surrey Can No Longer Afford A Mayor Who Who Continues To Put Politics Ahead Of Public Safety. With Mike Starchuk as mayor, we will listen to the subject matter experts, ensure our frontline workers have what they need to keep us safe, and work with the province and Feds to secure the funding and crime-fighting tools we need. No politics ... just purpose. #imaginesurrey #changethatworksforyou #bcpoli #dobetter #SurreyBC

I have said it many times, transparency is the key to ensuring that confidence in public safety remains job 1! Holding a last minute meeting so the Board Chair can't attend it and expecting an inexperienced board to make a career ending informed decision is "Irresponsibly 101".
STARCHUK TO MAYOR LOCKE: This is your Police Board, and your wrecking ball that still swings over the Surrey Police Transition. And now you've fired Chief Lipinski via board-packing and political interference. The meeting was called without notice to the Surrey Police Board Chair, who was not in attendance and who has resigned as the SPB Chair and states "I feel the political tentacles and pressures have reached far too deeply into our newly formed SPS board, and I morally and ethically cannot be part of this moving forward."
