🇨🇳🇿🇼🕊️ Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun calls for the lifting of illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe at the regular press conference on 26 October 2026 .
“The illegal sanctions imposed by certain Western countries on Zimbabwe have lasted for over 20 years. The practice is a typical example of hegemonism. It seriously violates Zimbabwe’s national sovereignty, undermines Zimbabwean people’s right to development, and hurts international fairness and justice. China has supported the just aspiration of Zimbabwe and other African friends in various ways for eight consecutive years. China solemnly calls on certain Western countries to immediately remove the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe, and take responsible and concrete actions to develop the economy and improve people’s livelihoods there. China will work with African countries and the rest of the world to safeguard international fairness and justice, and support Zimbabwe in defending independence and sovereignty as well as achieving development and revitalization.”

Some Western countries’ decades-long illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe seriously violate its national sovereignty, hurt Zimbabwean people’s right to development and undermine international fairness and justice. The sanctions should be immediately removed.

This Sunday in Moscow, a landmark diplomatic offensive officially commenced as the COMESA Chairman, His Excellency President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, safely landed to attend the Third Russia-Africa Summit.
Following the President's arrival, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Hon. Prof. dr. Amon Murwira, issued a comprehensive operational briefing detailing the Head of State's upcoming high-level engagements.
Outlining the intensive itinerary for the week, Prof. Murwira emphasized that the Chief Diplomat is aggressively driving the aspirations of the COMESA region alongside Zimbabwe's flagship "Zimbabwe is Open for Business" doctrine.

A picture worth 1,000 words. ❤️
After two wonderful months in Riyadh, we had to leave rather suddenly, without my husband. It was a long, exhausting journey from Bahrain to Addis Ababa and finally home to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
On our Ethiopian Airlines flight, we all fell fast asleep. When I woke up, my four-year-old daughter was missing from her seat. I found her a few rows ahead, fast asleep in the arms of a lovely flight attendant named Lydia.
She had woken up crying and confused, and Lydia, not wanting to disturb me, had picked her up, comforted her and rocked her back to sleep. My little girl stayed there for the next three hours.
In the middle of a difficult journey, this beautiful act of kindness meant the world. Thank you, Ethiopian Airlines, and especially Lydia, for reminding us that kindness and humanity know no borders. ❤️

🕊️ Today marks SADC Anti-Sanctions Day. 🕊️
In 2019, the 39th SADC Summit designated October 25 as “Anti-Sanctions Day”, urging a handful of Western countries and organisations to lift the illegal sanctions against Zimbabwe 🇿🇼.
For over two decades, these unjust unilateral sanctions have gravely trampled on Zimbabwe’s sovereignty, eroded its people’s right to development, and held back Southern Africa’s pursuit of shared progress.
🇨🇳 🤝 🇿🇼 China reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with Zimbabwe. We consistently support Zimbabwe's position against external interference and its pursuit of independent development.
We urge relevant countries and organisations to heed global calls for justice, lift these illegal sanctions without further delay, and take tangible steps to advance Zimbabwe's economic revitalisation and deliver improved livelihoods for its people.

Muy pobre el nivel de juego de Zimbabue (que ganó con lo justo) y más pobre el de Namibia.

A massive congratulations to our Zimbabwe Sables on an incredible and hard-fought 36–33 victory over Namibia today!
Playing our first international match at this historic venue in over two decades, you showed true determination, resilience, and the unmistakable spirit of Zimbabwe. From our clinical execution at the set pieces, precision in the lineouts, to the decisive tactical kicking under pressure, it was a masterful display of rugby. Holding off a fierce comeback to secure this win right at the wire has made the entire nation immensely proud.
Thank you to the technical team, the players, and the thousands of fans who came out to lift our boys today. This is a monumental step forward for Zimbabwean rugby.
Keep flying the flag high, Sables! The journey continues.
