🙃 field holding and shelf life are critical traits... driven by firmness
Proposal ranked as medium priority. Because some reviewer thinks new blueberry cultivars are firm enough. They should talk to 🫐 growers. Firm fruit is key for the transition to mechanization.

Today is three years post degree date from @ucdavis. In that time I have worked in industry, been a postdoc, and landed a tenure track job at UC Davis. Honestly, it’s the best role I’ve been in and while not job is perfect, I am pretty happy to be where I am, doing what I do.

Whether you want an academic, private, ngo, gov’t, freelance, or whatever job, try to find one where the people around you are good and the work is interesting. Work hard, not too much, mostly plants.
