A great explanation of extending claims vs. extinguishing them
Cash extinguishes the float
Deposits extend the float
A neutral clerk, who takes no credit from either side 👍
Robert Mundell and Esperanto for Money:
-
"He emphasized that national currencies would continue to exist for domestic use, much like local languages, but a shared global money would enhance efficiency in a globalized economy."

Mundell was @judyshel's mentor.
If you want to pay in your own currency in a tokenized world, you need a fully reserved sovereign coin that can meet the dollar in PvP.
A neutral clerk with no yield to skim is what makes that work, because nobody has to trust the other side’s bank. Banks keep the yield. The coin does the traveling.
Take a moment and step back.
You're seeing live how institutions are coming on to the @XRP Ledger, builders competing for the best XRPL project at hackathons, culture and art is at a all time high in the XRP community, tokenized assets ramping up, new amendments enabling big DeFi opportunities to unlock liquidity and capital on XRP.
The XRP community is literally where everything is currently unfolding.
It's the opportunity market to be on the ledger.

🇬🇧 REGULATION: The UK FCA just told DeFi projects that slapping "decentralized" on your app won't get you out of regulation.
It says "true DeFi" isn't even a legal concept.

The SEC has already laid out the rules for companies to tokenize stocks with TSVs
The SEC did not pick a chain⛓️
It picked a test 🧪
“Permissionless” means anyone can read or write the ledger without authorization.
A permissioned AMM can sit on that ledger.
Both at once.
Open book: XRPL, Ethereum and its public L2s, Solana, Stellar.
Closed book: DTCC’s private rail, bank consortium DLT, Canton as public-permissioned. You need a seat.
Gray: Arc, Tempo. You can send a transaction. Blocks are still a named club.
Vanilla AMM on an open chain still fails. The pool has to be gated.
Chain open. Pool gated. Clearinghouse books are neither.
This is not TSV approval. The venue still has to be a U.S. person, halt with the listing exchange, carry real share rights, and print a public tape.

Garden Money vs. Traveler Money 🧳
Garden money is a claim on a bank. The payment never leaves the book. Bank A debits the sender and credits the receiver, or messages Bank B to credit an account that already exists. If the banks differ, they net through a correspondent or clearing house and settle the difference in reserves later, usually end of day. The customer never receives reserves. The customer receives a new or transferred IOU from a bank willing to owe them. Deposits grow with the relationship because they are cheap funding. The network only works for someone who already has an account the system can credit. Hours, membership, and a name on a book are the product.
Traveler money is a reserved coin. The payment leaves the book. The bank burns the deposit, or draws the thin sleeve, and mints the coin one-for-one against segregated reserves. An agent, a foreign book, a self-custody wallet, or a title company can hold it with no account at the issuing bank. Nothing has to be credited on a deposit ledger for the payment to finish. When the coin returns, the bank burns it and restores the deposit, netting the sleeve toward zero overnight. The sleeve cannot go to zero. The next walk-test payment still needs a mint when no account is left to credit. The book does not grow with the payment. The coin moves. The claim stays put.

Machines will not wait three days to settle a payment. XRP settles in seconds.
XRP is included in the CTX crypto index as an Eligible Component, with a 4.36% index weight and a 4.41% fund weight after the fund’s additional screens.
The index holds 36 assets across five tiers, and the fund narrows that to 24. XRP clears the screens and is weighted slightly higher in the fund than in the index.
