We must never forget what actually happened, though :)

It’s always “trust the experts” until the expert is an economist

Tbh I think MMT has been reasonably well borne-out? it’s not a theory that says you never get inflation. It says inflation is driven by real-economy shortages and/or gluts of their version of the money supply. COVID produced real supply shocks and the MMT version of the money supply has exploded over the last decade.

Lol you started with “MMT has been reasonably well borne out.”
And now we're at:
“MMT proponents understood in 2010 that printing too much money could cause inflation.”

if recommending deficit spending during a liquidity-trap recession validates MMT, then recommending monetary tightening during an inflationary boom should simikarly validate the mainstream models that MMT proponents dispute
explaining an observed phenomenon isn't evidence in favor of a particular theory when competing theories explain the same phenomenon lmao

It is.
Summers, Blanchard, the Fed lol, Bernanke's 2023 decomposition with Blanchard (energy/supply drove the 21 surge, labor-market tightness drove persistence) all support it. If MMT is "well borne out" on that basis, so is the Phillips curve, Friedman, and a napkin

Peltola’s former campaign manager, fired this summer, goes on record to the NYTs to say that the Dems worked to get another Dan Sullivan on the ballot. ...And then subsequently tries to retract her statements.

If we don’t have M4A by 2028, I propose holding her personally responsible. By her own standard, there could only be two reasons she’d fail:
1) She didn’t fight hard enough (“if you fight hard enough, anything is possible” —Karl Marx)
2) She sold out to corporate interests
