Mayor Brandon Johnson has announced that bus lanes will be deployed on Michigan Ave in the next few days.
There will be a new bus lane deployed on the northbound lane between Roosevelt and Wacker.
This is welcome news, and probably the easiest section to start with. But we need it from Roosevelt to Oak, in both directions. The bus absolutely crawls to a halt between Wacker and Oak.
The bus lane will be enforced by the Smart Streets program. CTA buses are equipped cameras that automatically issue citations to scofflaw motorists.

🔥✅ The Chicago Fire’s 2-0 win over Necaxa is the club’s first win against Mexican opposition in 16 years.
It is also the Fire’s first competitive win against a foreign (non-US/MLS) opponent since defeating Pumas in the 2010 SuperLiga.

if there’s any “terrorism” that happens on us soil now, you will never be able to convince me nor millions of other americans that it wasn’t israel and america conducting it together to rally the masses to support an insanely unpopular war.

If I’m reading this right, Metra Electric trains were running at speeds roughly 30% slower than necessary simply because no one updated operating procedures for a century. Bureaucratic sclerosis is killing America! This borders on negligence. In 100 years, not a single person at Metra before now had the curiosity to ask, “Why are we operating these trains so slow?” instead just “hurr-durr, it’s always been like that.” The Metra managers whose purview this was should lose their jobs and/or pensions. They just showed up and collected paychecks they didn’t earn. This is frustrating and ridiculous

The state of Indiana passed a law banning rail transit. Indianapolis, a city of nearly one million people, cannot have trains as it's against the law.
How come Japan gets cool things like suspension monorail trains, and we don't? 😠😖teapaw.org/6chezza/status/1989786…
