In Yr11 assembly this morning, we distributed cards & well wishes that parents and family members have been sending in secretly. We hope this mornings assembly has boosted their confidence & shown how much support they have around them. Time to smash those exams: you can do this!

In response to the humanitarian crisis happening in Ukraine we held a non-uniform day, raising an awesome £1105.56 which will be donated to The British Red Cross Appeal. Students could also write messages for a Peace Wall. Year 9 Photography students have created a collage image.

A fab afternoon consisting of a purposeful creative writing workshop delivered by the wonderful @HMH_English! The interactive poetry and ‘what if’ tasks were my favourite🤩.
Our son loves Frostheart so he asked to be Ash for the day at school. He’s currently on book 3: ‘Rise of the World Eater’ after discovering the first book in lockdown. Happy WBD #worldbookday2022 #WBD2022 #WorldBookDay @jamieillustrate

Great Teaching. The Power of Expectations. teacherhead.com/2018/09/02/g… > a good start-of-term post. Amazing how much comes down to this; that drive; that belief that they can do it.
Working on a new scheme of work for year 8 on Fairy Tales. Trying to decide on two tales from Pullman’s Grimm Tales. A focus on creative writing skills, oral tradition, fairy tale tropes etc. Any suggestions, help or advice from similar schemes of work @Team_English1 @FreyaMariaO
Can anyone recommend a modern short story they’ve read which allows for exploration around fairytale tropes? @Team_English1 @LitdriveUK

…much pleasure to learning’. Sharing the love of a subject and watching students grow as individuals is the biggest perk. This was a student who said at the start of year 10 that he didn’t like English 🤦🏻♀️. #GCSEresults2021 #englishteacher #teamenglish
