Call me wild, but it seems sensible to still require people to stay away from school & work etc, while they have covid as it is now one of the leading causes of death in NZ.
Why do some employers want staff to come to work with covid? Surely that causes more sick days?

Here's example of native catchment meeting residential/forestry/pasture catchment after heavy rain.
Native catchment is tannin-y - so looks brown like a cup of tea w/o milk rather than a milkshake.
Some erosion is a normal process but humans grossly speeding up the process.

Dropping all public health protections and ignoring high COVID-19 spread doesn't make the pandemic magically go away. It only shifts the burden of risk more greatly onto disabled and immunocompromised people, poor people, people of color, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups.

In 1960 NZ had way less people than Finland & Norway, yet we had loads of passenger trains. In 2022, we have a similar population, yet almost no interregional transport (spoiler alert: they still have good public transport). It's not a lack of people, it's a lack of vision
