$MDB 🔥MongoDB: The Agentic + AI Data & Memory Layer Powering the AI Revolution 🔥
I’ve been working tirelessly to build the ultimate AI Leaders Portfolio to mint AI millionaires during the coming AI market boom. As the U.S. embraces AI innovation and AI transforms every industry for the future, this portfolio is built to ride that wave. You’ve seen my thread on Vinod Khosla and investing in the future. You know I invest in what’s next, and I only pick the highest quality names. And MongoDB is the single most important "pick-and-shovel" for all AI application development powering data and memory layer of the agentic and LLM-powered AI revolution. But the market has been totally snoozing on it.
MongoDB $MDB goes alongside $GTLB, $NBIS, and $TEM in my AI Leaders Portfolio for Growth. These aren’t the noisy, overhyped megacaps. These are the real small-cap and mid-cap growth names quietly powering the AI economy from the bottom up. It's foundational infrastructure the market still doesn’t fully understand, but will power the technological revolution and make you rich.
MongoDB ($MDB) is that layer. This isn’t just another database company: it’s the memory engine of the AI stack. Agentic AI, copilots, autonomous apps, LLM workflows, none of it works without fast, scalable memory.
Models are just math. But AI agents and AI apps using LLM models need memory to reason, recall, and act. MongoDB makes that possible.
MongoDB pulled in $2.01 billion in revenue for fiscal 2025. That sounds large, but it’s just the start. According to The Wall Street Journal, the vector-database market alone is expected to grow from $1.5 billion in 2023 to $4.3 billion by 2028. Meanwhile, the broader AI data-management market is projected to grow from $25.5 billion in 2023 to over $100 billion by 2030. MongoDB is one of the few platforms actually ready to scale into that massive demand.
Over 320 customers currently spend over $1 million annually on MongoDB, and with its AI offerings acerating as EVERY business needs to build out real AI capabilities, MongoDB still has enormous runway and will easily reach more giant deals out of its storehouse of over 50,000 customers, as they need to integrate AI into their data. This could easily be a 3-5x revenue story by the end of the decade. It doesn’t matter which AI model wins or which company wants to build an AI with their data. MongoDB is agnostic. It plugs into all of it.
This is the an AWS moment for AI memory built on technology that just happened to be perfect for it. It is one of the highest quality, most misunderstood infrastructure plays in the entire AI economy.
Let’s do a deep dive 🧵

Unbelievable.
When I was a director of an exchange in 2013, one of the first security policies I set up was:
-Once KYC/AML was approved it was printed out.
-One copy went to a fireproof filing cabinet at main office with the compliance lead.
-One copy went to secure offsite records storage with Iron Mountain.
-Digital copies were batched weekly to an airgapped offline server.
-All access went through senior compliance team members.
Coinbase’s disclosure here focuses on the stolen funds.
But that’s irrelevant.
They got physical addresses, and government IDs.
Things you can’t change, and things that put customers at physical risk.
No element of KYC/AML policy requires this kind of stuff to be accessible to your customer support agents.
I don’t want to hear about what Coinbase is doing to recover funds - I want to hear what they are doing to better deal with private data.
And why a $60B company, had such rubbish data policies when they can easily afford to hire top class talent?
Cyber criminals bribed and recruited rogue overseas support agents to pull personal data on <1% of Coinbase MTUs. No passwords, private keys, or funds were exposed. Prime accounts are untouched. We will reimburse impacted customers. More here: coinbase.com/blog/protecting…

I've received multiple calls from people claiming to be from Coinbase and they had specific information about my Coinbase account. I was suspicious and I reached out to Coinbase customer support about the issue.
I received the below email from Coinbase stating that my information from Coinbase was NOT COMPROMISED.
Not only has $COIN not informed users that their system was hacked - but they also actually did the opposite and told users that their Coinbase information was NOT hacked.
Looking forward to the class action settlement...
$COIN
Coinbase $COIN hired dirt cheap CSR agents in India, Pakistan, the Philippines or God knows where and they accepted bribes from a gang of cyber criminals who made off with tons of customer data including:
🚩 Names
🚩 Phone #'s
🚩 Gov ID images
🚩 Account balance and tx's
I've said it before and I'll say it again; Coinbase is not a serious company, and they're NOT serious about protecting their users.
Only the worst of corporate legal schmucks could spin this catastrophic failure as "protecting our customers and standing up to extortionists".
That horse already escaped the barn when you pay people peanuts and they take bribes to steal client PII.
What an absolute clown show.
Honk. Honk. 🤡

2. Failed its P2 trial
3. Faked the P2 data to make it seem like it passed

5. Got charged by the SEC for #3
6. Is still worth $1.5 billion and is up on a 1, 2, and 5 year basis

The South Sudan Men’s Basketball story is incredible. The youngest country in the world (established 2011) with a GDP of under $10B.
Former NBA player Luol Deng funded the country’s basketball program (travel, hotels, gyms) for years on his own and believes South Sudan can become a basketball powerhouse the same way “Kenya dominates in track and field” or “Jamaica does in sprinting”.
During his NBA career (2004-2019), Deng regularly ran basketball camps in the UK (where his family received political asylum after escaping Sudanese Civil War) and Africa.
A huge motivation for him to pursue basketball was that “everything said about Sudan / South Sudan was always negative” and he “wanted to succeed” as a way to put his “country on the map.”
Deng became president of the South Sudan Basketball Federation in 2019 and what they’ve been able to do in a few short years is amazing.
