What goes into building a stronger Bitcoin ecosystem, beyond the code itself?
Our conversations with @StephTitcombe, @Murugi___ and @ihate1999 took us behind different parts of Btrust's work, from creating pathways for developers to grow, to communicating the work happening across the ecosystem and the vision guiding it all.
Each conversation offered a different perspective on what it takes to support the people building Bitcoin's future.
Looking forward to this! See y'all on Friday 🤗

How do you tell the story of a technical ecosystem to people who aren’t already inside it?
In the latest episode of Btrust in Focus: Conversations with Builders, Paul Eke (@proofofpaul) sits with Sharon Murugi (@Murugi___) Communications Lead at Btrust, to talk about finding her way into Bitcoin, growing into a communications role within a developer-focused organisation, and the work of making complex ideas easier to understand.
They discuss how Btrust’s brand and communications have evolved, the thinking behind the different stories and campaigns the organisation puts out, and what it takes to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.
Sharon also shares what she’s learning about building a more engaging Btrust presence and creating stories that help more people find their way into the ecosystem.

Day 1 of Hack4Freedom Nairobi ✨🧡
A day of connection, learning & new possibilities.
Workshops, shared experiences, and real conversations among women building, learning, and claiming their space in tech.
Huge thanks to @DadaDevs, @btrustteam, @evento_so, and @SoapboxTech for believing in the Hack4Freedom — and in bringing more women closer to open technologies and the Bitcoin ecosystem. #hack4freedom #Hack4FreedomNairobi_2026

We were then joined by the amazing @tando_me team, Sabina and Jason, who shared their journey of building, taking risks and the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone.
@Murugi___ from @btrust_builders followed with an important conversation on building in public reminding the devs that the journey itself can create opportunities, connections and visibility. You don’t have to wait until everything is perfect before you put your work out there.
@abby_hanunah , who runs a community supporting women refugees, brought a different but equally important perspective: the power of women working together.
Because building doesn’t have to be a solo journey. There is so much we can create when women share knowledge, open doors for one another, collaborate and collectively create opportunities.

We’re excited to support the Nairobi 🇰🇪 edition of @hack4_freedom, happening from September 22nd to October 5th.
The two-week program will bring together women interested in Bitcoin development for hands-on learning, building, and connecting with developers and mentors from the ecosystem.
@Murugi___, @_frankomosh, @dzeg5, @nkatha_kk and @BrandonOdiwuor will also be joining the program and contributing to the sessions over the two weeks.
Huge thanks to @ibrahim_sekinah, @briimhd, @DadaDevs, and everyone involved in making this happen and helping grow the pipeline of female Bitcoin open-source developers. 🧡
