RIP Garth Hudson, The Band‘s last living member has died aged 87 🌹
"We called Garth “H.B.” among ourselves. This stood for “Honey Boy,” because at the end of the day, after the other instruments were put away, Garth was still in the studio sweetening the tracks, stacking up those chords, putting on brass, woodwinds, whatever was needed to make that music sing. Garth made us sound like we did." - Levon Helm

On this day in 1915, Germany introduces a new weapon: poison gas. Although the extreme cold on the Eastern Front renders the agent ineffective, future chemical attacks elsewhere will be lethally effective. By 1918, gas will have caused more than 1.3 million casualties.
