The whiteboard brainstorm pic (still) in your phone. The 10-page meeting notes with action items buried in the middle. The sticky note tasks you need to add to the team project. Try "Extract tasks" in Quick Add—Todoist will find & create tasks from pics, files, & text. ✔️

AI screens resumes. AI tries to beat those screens. Hiring gets worse for everyone 😭 @todoist's @NadiaVat reran already-filled roles through an ATS-style ranker to check if AI would've picked their actual hires. Twice, it wouldn't have. @jilleduffy's story in @WIRED 🧵

In February, Claude was Todoist’s #9 integration. By May, it was #1. Usage has grown 27x since February. ChatGPT arrived in June and is already #2. As I wrote a few days ago, software that’s easy for agents to use is becoming a major trend. Contrary to the mainstream view of “saaspocalypse”, we also see record usage and revenue growth. People use them to plan the day, chase follow-ups, do the actual work, and connect Todoist to their other tools. Some go further and have an agent set up an entire project, then run it like a project manager. Exciting times ahead!

You’re doing it all for your team or business. How about a little help making time for the big stuff… or just for that *one task* you keep rescheduling (and rescheduling)? Todoist is now available as a built-in connector in Muse, @Meta 's personal AI agent.

If your team’s communication feels chaotic, disconnected from Todoist, or just isn’t working, Todoist Comms could be a great fit. We are looking for early teams that can try this out and provide feedback 🙏 todoist.typeform.com/comms-w…
Next week, a new alpha chapter starts. This is always so exciting as a builder 🔊✨

Todoist Ramble just got much better at understanding you with Gemini Live 3.8. In our benchmarks, task accuracy for, e.g., Slavic languages jumped from 39.6% to 85.4%! If you haven’t tried this lately, give it a run. It’s magical 🧙

Took a 1 week vacay, thinking our fam will have a break from AI and tech. On day 4, my son used Gemini to find which pool/ beach has the least amount of wind, after being gushed around for an hour at the current pool. Best day of the holiday 🩵💦 – at Ballito, South Africa

The remote playbook becomes the AI playbook. The patterns that reduced coordination costs in remote teams are now becoming the operating system for AI-native organizations. AI adoption is an organizational design problem, not a tooling problem. AI agents are remote collaborators. They're never in the room, never part of the side conversation, and never benefit from undocumented context. They work with artifacts your organization leaves behind: documents, issues, decisions, code. That’s why the operating principles by all-remote organizations like @GitLab matter more than ever. Documentation becomes executable context. Transparency becomes infrastructure. Decision velocity becomes the constraint. Async collaboration becomes loop design. Remote teams cut coordination cost with clear handoffs instead of standing meetings. Agents run the same way. The loop matters more than the prompt: what you assign, how you check it, where it hands back. Documentation becomes executable context. Docs, issues, and decisions are now runtime input for agents. Knowledge that isn't documented can't be retrieved. Knowledge retrieval replaces knowledge sharing. The author becomes the first reviewer. AI multiplies output, not review capacity. Self-review before requesting review becomes a required validation step. Transparency becomes infrastructure. AI can only reason over visible context. Hidden decisions become blind spots. Transparency is no longer about culture, it’s about reliable execution. Breaking the single source of truth creates execution bugs. Two conflicting docs create coordination costs, and make agents act with false confidence. Motion becomes cheap. AI makes producing work almost free. More PRs, more drafts, and more experiments don’t necessarily mean more progress. The real metric that survives is whether the work solved the problem. Bias for action becomes a permission model. Remote teams trusted people to act without waiting. Agents need the same trust, but with explicit boundaries. Reversible work should flow automatically, and irreversible work should pause for human judgment. Decision velocity becomes the competitive advantage. Every principle above reduces the coordination cost of making decisions. Organizations that optimize for decision velocity by making more informed decisions, faster and more often, will outperform those that simply produce more code, documents, or pull requests. The organizations that learned to coordinate distributed teams are best positioned to coordinate distributed intelligence. 🤖

What about a ~100-person company with a $100M run rate that’s bootstrapped and fully independent? That’s what we’re building at Todoist 😉

Saw this in our design channel and it’s really incredible how many tiny details go into creating something great. And this happens on all levels. Great things aren’t created by accident, but by a lot of hard work by people who care.

~20% of Todoisters have been with the company for more than a decade. On the final night of our biannual retreat, we surprised them with a $10,000 bonus and a special Todoist 10th anniversary backpack. The gift doesn’t come close to reflecting what they’ve contributed, but it was a small way to say thank you. Many of us began this journey in our twenties, when our lives looked very different. Over the years, we’ve grown up together. We’ve built families, moved countries, navigated difficult chapters, and turned a small company into something that helps millions of people around the world. Another unique thing is that the company now has 43 nationalities, and 13 in the 10-year batch! (🇧🇦 🇨🇦 🇨🇳 🇩🇰 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇯🇲 🇵🇱 🇵🇹 🇷🇺 🇸🇰 🇪🇸 🇺🇸) Building a company is super hard. It’s full of highs, lows, uncertainty, and reinvention. Sharing that journey with these people has been one of the great privileges of my life. I’m deeply grateful for their trust, commitment, and everything we’ve helped build. And somehow, it still feels like we’re just getting started! I can’t wait to share (leak 😉) the next chapters of the Todoist journey 🌌🌟

I’ve worked from home for years, and it’s wonderful, including the occasional distraction from my kids 😄 This fraud narrative is such a wrong take. I also bet he spends most of his time in meaningless meetings.
Why Remote Work is White Collar Fraud. "I have a three-year-old and a five-year-old. The idea that I could do any work at my house is like a total fantasy. The kids come home at 3pm, your work day needs to keep going. I'm highly against it." @typesfast

First thing I'm using this for is to break down tasks on my to-do list into subtasks (Todoist MCP) Simple, but helps make execution easier when I come to it
Doing my first ever experiments with a personal, entirely agent-managed Karpathy-style wiki X, Discord, Gmail are all being ingested into it every few hours This is the knowledge base that will serve as the environment for all of my future loops
