You think you’re invincible until you board a plane that crashes mid flight. You think youre invincible until you run a marathon and your body betrays you two miles before the finish line. You think you’re invincible until you’re riding your bike and that car comes out of nowhere. You never stood a chance. It was over before it began.
How many tragedies must we bear witness to before we understand: our time here is finite. One moment you’re here, gone the next. “We never got to do all the things we said we would do.” The clock has already struck 12. You’re out of time. You must live while you’re still here.
Remember. You owe death a life.

Make sure to vote for the mean pedophile reptilian cannibals or the nice pedophile reptilian cannibals Today. Your ancestors died for your right to do so. And your vote totally matters. The nice ones atleast are mean behind my back

Life doesn't always unfold the way you imagined. You have to welcome the uncertainty, adapt, and make the best of where you are.

You could do everything right in life, get your pilot license in high school, go to church every Sunday, etc, and you could still end up with everyone watching your death online and commenting about how you were a DEI pilot. Nothing really does matter man

Truly horrifying.
The fact that we still have nuclear weapons tells me people don’t understand them. When I was at Uni, we studied descriptions from survivors of the atomic blasts at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I thought it would be like learning about any other harrowing history. I was very wrong. It disturbed me in my bones and never left me.
When the atomic bombs detonated in Japan, some of these survivors literally thought it was an alien invasion. This was because the flash was so blinding bright and silent, they had never imagined anything like it before. There was also no noise for those close to the blast. The shockwave hit their ears at the same time as the sound, sending them flying and shattering everything in its wake. This became known as the Pika-Don.
For those further away from the detonation, the sound following the flash was deafening beyond description. It was described as an impossible crack, as if the sky had snapped open. This was trailed by a terrifying deep roar that screamed outwards. It was considered one of the loudest events in human history.
Then there was the thermal heat wave. It was so hot it vaporised people in the open instantly and other peoples clothes melted into their skin. Many were burned beyond belief and just stood there screaming or silent, as the sky turned black from the dust, ash and debris. Wild firestorms spread throughout the city, as people searched in darkness for their families and friends.
But the worst was yet to come. Those that died in the blast were the lucky ones. Over the coming days and weeks, people’s hair fell out. Without explanation those that had incredibly survived, started to confusingly fall ill and perish over time. I don’t want to describe the side effects of the radiation sickness, but it made me cry reading about it. The hopelessness, suffering and courage of the people that succumbed to this, should be mandatory reading for everyone, to understand the true power of nuclear weapons.

“traumatize” is being generous. Every kid gets frightened by someone at least once. They’ll live

I beg yall to stop using words like “traumatize” to dramatize a situation. He was scared. He will live. He does not have damn trauma.

a lot of "cinephiles" would be happier if they actually studied film history and technical aspects of filmmaking instead of just trying to be "the best fan" and going to every screening imaginable but not learning or analyzing anything

I work in aviation so this morning I got to sit around with a bunch of pilots and discuss this horrible situation and I found it so interesting that none of the pilots thought the gender or race of the pilots were a factor at all but a bunch of fucking idiots on here do.

sometimes shit goes exactly as poorly as you prophesied in your head and like 6 months later you completely forget about it. rejected by the high school sweetheart you thought youd marry, once a stay at home mom and now an empty nester looking for purpose, sat score 1200 points lower than you wanted. literally none of it ends up mattering. you find new life. a new purpose. a better college. and it works out. always does when you believe it will. life is amazing this way. ridiculously forgiving. once you realize this the fun meter goes nuclear.
