many won’t agree with this but they know deep down it’s true.
Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky: “The US is not that competitive. Europe is even less competitive.”
“China is competitive.”
“China is 9/9/6. Even if you are good in Europe, or in the US, how can you out-compete the people who work 9:00 to 9:00, six days a week?”
“I started in a co-working space with 140 companies. Within 5 years, only 3 companies survived. They all worked on the weekends.”
“Within 10 years, only 2 companies survived out of 140.”
“Working weekends is a must if you want to survive. Purely statistically.”

If your company refers to engineers as the IT department, you have nothing to worry about. You were already breached last week.

There must exists an app with PHP, deployed on Railway, with calls to cURL, with other services written in node that use Brotli compression running on a couple day old Linux, with their code self managed on GitLab
They are having a hell of a week

Every company's goal should be to reach Lana Del Rey-level brand clarity.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.

DeepSeek team has done more for equitable distribution of foundational AI tech than both OpenAI and Anthropic combined.
AI is progressing rapidly in two directions:
1. bigger and bigger models running on biggest compute clusters.
2. small models with full stack of tools mimicking frontier AI development and inference.
Introducing MLX-LM-LoRA v5.9.0
This brings LLM training to your AI agent through MCP.
Describe what you want in plain language. Your agent can validate the training config, launch a fine-tune on Apple Silicon, monitor progress, inspect logs, and stop the run.
The goal: make improving an LLM something you can ask for in a conversation.........or automate.
This is a first step toward automating the improvement loop aka RSI for everyone: evaluate → train → evaluate → iterate.
How to use it:
python3 -m pip install -U "mlx-lm-lora[mcp]"
Codex: codex mcp add mlx-lm-lora -- /full/path/to/mlx-lm-lora-mcp
Claude-Code: claude mcp add --transport stdio --scope user mlx-lm-lora -- /full/path/to/mlx-lm-lora-mcp
Install the skill: npx skills add Goekdeniz-Guelmez/mlx-lm-lora --skill mlx-lm-lora -a codex -a claude-code -g

this deserves to be framed and put on the wall of every startup’s office 😝

1. New rule: If you post "distribution is the new moat," you have to explain what the old moat was. Hint: it was also distribution. Coca-Cola figured this out before your great-grandparents were born.
such goated teams going after hard problems will change the world faster than many of us can imagine now.
💥 Introducing Warp Sciences, a new company applying AI and robotics to help the world develop new medicines faster.
We’ve raised a $215M Series A led by @lightspeedvp to bring frontier AI out of the browser and into the lab, and build scientific capacity here in America.
I co-founded Warp with my long-time friend @dpatil, FAIR co-founder @manohar_paluri, and drug hunter Sol Reisberg. The early team is full of incredible people like @bkspears9, who helped achieve Q>1 fusion at LLNL.

super important honest advice to founders. if you are working on a dead end, get out. you don’t owe that to anyone, including investors (who regularly forgive and experience failure, and ideally care more about you doing your life’s work than a subpar outcome)
Foursquare was acquired last month. The outcome was disappointing. It's taken me a while to write this, but I think I'm finally done grieving it. Here are some thoughts on our final years, an effort to honor the team who helped build & maintain FSQ's legacy, and my attempt to finally get some closure. teendrama.substack.com/p/som…

the silliest way to lose a lot of money in 2026 is to hold onto stupid priors for dear life
the second silliest is to make “safe” bets behind prestige vs. first principles evaluation of tech/business. if a company has fancy pedigree but is just losing…don’t fight the tape

Yeah I’d say the RL is working now all right
in 2026, i finally started contributing to open source! 🙂↔️
i love tinkering with AI on Mac and the community around MLX.
keep up the great work @Prince_Canuma 🙌🏼

when i have really dumb questions i'll ask chatgpt or gemini because i don't want claude to think i'm stupid
if you’re already spending your nights and weekends building side projects with AI, set yourself one more goal:
earn at least ₹1 lakh from one of them.
getting people to pay for something you built will give you a different kind of confidence in your ability to build something useful that people actually want.
