Immutable is rebuilding its gaming chain on Optimism’s tech
@Immutable ($IMX) will move Immutable Chain from its own custom setup to the OP Stack, the open-source chain framework from @Optimism ($OP), with the switch aimed at mid-2027. Blocks will then come every second instead of every two.
Accounts, balances, and contracts will carry over automatically, and Immutable says almost no one will need to act. Fees will rise slightly, and block production will pause for a few hours on switch day. Immutable's chain has processed almost 250 million transactions across more than 18 million wallets so far.
