so we need to keep flooding all social media platforms with loudmouth spooks and political operatives? yea let's further degrade the signal to noise ratio lol
first step is to outright BAN platform-funded engagement payouts cuz their only purpose is to reward attention extraction. the beneficiaries of this new economy have all the incentives to monetize grievances indefinitely, even when the public would be better served by their resolution. the "town square" larping on here is pathetic
Selling chips to China aside, the lingering effects of Huang’s strategy of shunning the retail market in favor of circular AI financing is going to trigger American tech lag for generations. Hardware should be cheap for Americans

Rudolf Steiner was so correct when he warned that humanity’s “shadowy thoughts” would one day creep over the Earth like a spider’s web: a brood of half-mineral, spider-like creatures, interconnected in a network with “an overwhelming power of intellect.”
“And from the Earth there will spring forth a terrible brood of beings, a brood of automata of an order of existence lying between the mineral and the plant kingdoms and possessed of an overwhelming power of intellect. This swarm will seize upon the Earth, will spread over the Earth like a network of ghastly, spider-like creatures… These spidery creatures will be all interlocked with one another, and in their outward movements they will imitate the thoughts that men have spun out of the shadowy intellect… All the thoughts that lack substance and reality will then be endowed with being.”
- Rudolf Steiner, GA 204 (Dornach, May 13, 1921)
In today’s world (2026), the Internet is that connective web, running through electricity, wires and power, and reaching further into transhumanism, where the web begins to entrap us. AI, which some fear will become a superintelligence (theory of Singularity), a digital god, or even the Antichrist, works through the same things: powered by electricity, the decaying light of sub-nature, bound to sub-earthly forces of darkness.
Perhaps that is the secret of the “World Wide Web.”
Valid crashout
FOUR KIDS AT HOME AND THEY'RE FILMING HIM FOR CLOUT??
Harmless content, or picked the wrong guy?
A Red Baron rep is stocking a grocery store freezer when a couple of young people with a camera start messing with him. He snaps, then tells them he has to be up at 5 in the morning, he's still out working late, he's got four kids at home and he can't pay his mortgage.
If that were my son holding that phone, the video would come down and he'd be finding that man to apologize to his face.
Yes, he lost his cool. Calling somebody a punk on camera never helps your case.
Now look at what he's carrying. Early mornings, more stores to hit, four kids and a mortgage. And somebody decided his bad day would make good content.
There's a guy like him in every grocery store in America, grinding through the shift nobody sees. Turning one of them into the punchline isn't edgy. It's lazy.
Leave the working man alone. He's got enough on his plate.

Nothing encapsulates the death of old internet more than this. Look at these freaks. There’s no way it’ll come back
As I've been saying for a while, the (manufactured) hardware shortage goal is to consolidate processing power in the hands of a few oligarchs. Of course, elon is one of those oligarchs. This is yet another reason to oppose hyperscale data centers
Replying to @chamath
Pretty much.
As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers.
SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue.
That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.

When rationalist types who are into AI safety talk about transgressive ideas it’s always like “what’s so wrong with necrophilia anyway?” and never “why don’t we have a debt jubilee?”
Chris Avellone (Planescape, KOTOR 2, and Fallout: New Vegas) just dropped a MEGATON NUKE regarding BioWare's hiring practices...
"...when applicants would apply to the studio, the producer would go through their LinkedIn to see what posts they liked, and if he disagreed with their political/social Like, he'd advocate not to hire them based on their Like."
ITS TRUE. EVERYTHING WE'VE BEEN SAYING. ITS ALL TRUE.
HOLY SHIT!
