Flyby #1 is happening tonight! 🔭 Where and when to see these Mars-bound spacecraft from your location: go.nasa.gov/4sFegAc
NASA’s twin ESCAPADE spacecraft swing past Earth one by one on Nov. 6-7 and 8-9 on their way to Mars. Have a telescope? You may be able to spot each spacecraft in the hours before each flyby as a faint dot drifting slowly east to west. 🔭 Star charts for locations across the U.S.: go.nasa.gov/4ySFuEV

18 months after the failure of its 1st flight, the Munich start-up Isar Aerospace achieved a real feat on Sept5, by successfully reaching orbit during the 2nd launch of its Spectrum microlauncher, launched from Andoya, Norway, #Space base esa.int/articles/about-us/di… @isaraerospace

Absolutely incredible work coming from Anil in low Earth orbit
26 years ago, today, Expedition 1 began our continuous habitation of space with NASA astronaut Bill Shepard and cosmonauts Yuri Gidzenko and Sergei Krikalev. Earth is just as stunning and station is still a platform that opens the doors to our future on the moon and, eventually, Mars. In this orbit, on this day, we passed by the blue fishing boats and, in the end, even a little aurora. See if you can spot the landmarks from the map. You’re looking out of the port window of the cupola, so to the left of the line.

The map to know how far is the universality of the human species. A Great work by @OlafFrohn #Space #scienceandtechnology #LaniakeaConquestStory
Map of all active & planned Solar System missions and their destinations as of November 1st 2026. @BepiColombo arrives at Mercury, @ESA_Hera at Didymos, @NASAJuno perijove #89, Voyager 1 at 1 lightday distance. #makeItSo

#EuropeinSpace : French space agency @CNES has announced the start of ground qualification testing for the Callisto reusable rocket demonstrator at the Guiana Space Centre #Space #technologies
📷 Décoller, redescendre… et recommencer ! Au @EuropeSpacePort, un démonstrateur grandeur nature de #CALLISTO teste les communications avec le sol, essentielles au décollage et à la redescente.

Never gets old to see ISRO bind the S139 solid rocket grains with these pins.

The AI models have accelerated the cyber threat to such a degree governments around the globe are coming to terms with the fact it is just a matter of time. There is no infrastructure for dealing with this volume of new attacks and potential vectors for attacks. Orders to stockpile supplies etc, they know we are in uncharted territory and everyone from peer adversaries to individual actors have a toolkit in their possession that nobody was prepared to confront this quickly.

Charged dust can lift off the Moon's surface and foul equipment. In a CU Boulder vacuum chamber, lunar soil simulant hit by an electron beam ramping up and down in energy threw off dust bursts about 10x the usual rate. Steady beams made none. doi.org/10.1029/2026GL123931

What kind of civilization are we working toward? What should we make? What should we explore? What capabilities should future generations inherit? How much should we be willing to attempt? Share your dreams!

Should be seeing road closures for Booster 22 to the pad and Static Fire testing soon.
A 10000ft Temporary Flight Restriction for high energy testing at the Starbase launch site starting on October 23 has been published notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSear…

$RKLB Looks like we’ve acquired a now former Amazon Senior Director of Manufacturing Finance. Tracking production costs, capital spending on facilities, and margins across launch and space systems would fall to this kind of role. A hire from Amazon's operations side could point to a push for tighter cost control and forecasting as volume grows. H/T @Gykiwi03
$RKLB 🌏✨️ Snagging a Senior Director of Manufacturing with five years of experience at a high-volume supply chain giant like Amazon is a huge win for Rocket Lab. Work history is impressive, dedicated employee.

I'll throw in a second one for fun. Not as cool since it was earlier into flight but once I saw the plume glow like this, I knew we were in for a show!

It might not have been as vibrant as last week's, but the jellyfish were out again today! SpaceX launching a Falcon 9 on the Bandwagon 5 mission, a rare (these days) southeastern launch. Being southeast of the launch made for a great side-on view right around sunrise. Learn more about what launched from @NASASpaceflight nasaspaceflight.com/2026/10/…

What is a differentiable manifold? Here is Lecture 3 of Frederic Schuller’s course on classical mechanics, translated from the German. His classical mechanics course was the one left in German, so I’ve been building a pipeline that translates each lecture while preserving his voice and cadence, with LaTeX PDF lecture notes to boot. This is huge: By Q1 2027, SpaceX plans to have three Starship launch pads and demonstrate in-orbit refueling for HLS! NASA’s roadmap has a lot packed into the next two quarters: Q4 2026: First V3 booster catch First Ship catch First Starship launch from the Cape First V3 booster reuse Q1 2027: In-orbit propellant transfer demo Second Starship pad at the Cape, LC-37, complete If they pull this off, Starship’s flight rate could look very different next year.
NASA just dropped some fresh HLS updates at IAC 2026. Artemis III is still targeting NET Q3 2027, basically a low Earth orbit dress rehearsal where Orion docks with the Starship HLS test article (no Moon landing yet). SpaceX side: Q4 2026: first Cape flight (currently NET Dec 10) + Cabin 1 done Q1 2027: cabin ops testing + propellant transfer demo Q2 2027: airlock & landing leg demos Q3 2027: first tanker for the uncrewed demo Q4 2027: uncrewed lunar landing demo Still aiming for the first crewed landing on Artemis IV in early 2028.
