I had a very β€œLeo points at screen” moment while watching You Can See Everything, recalling the last question I posed to Lance Oppenheim in an interview over 5 years ago:

RIP Eric Bauza, one of the greatest of all time. Did almost every single one of those voices in Coyote vs Acme. Someone who clearly loved these characters so much that he wasn't just doing Mel Blanc, he made them his own. xitter.cf/TunesClips/status/1484…
This just might be Eric’s best performance of the whole series.

As someone who saw The Devils far too young on the BBC in the 1990s, the hype around this re-release is genuinely blowing my mind. Selling out cinemas everywhere. Huge lobby standees. It’s utterly crazy in the best way

i know it’s prob weird rights and licensing issues, but it’s criminal that there isn’t a US blu-ray or 4K of this
ELEPHANT was released 23 years ago today. Gus Van Sant’s austere, long-take drama won both the Palme d’Or and Best Director at Cannes, yet its refusal to explain or sensationalize school violence still divides audiences.

This was how he was when I first met him (to talk about Lisztomania) and I'd never seen anything or anyone like that. Not even a photo of him. And he didn't do drugs; just five steps ahead of anyone else with that holographic brain
Ken Russell talking about the gauze people have for filtering upsetting content that I’ve always visualized!! very interesting to see someone else speak about this

it still feels surreal that Ryu Murakami passed away. very few writers have this insatiable appetite for life and write in a way that feels like this is the only thing in the world that matters. truly a huge loss for the literary world.

I've always wondered about the white subway tile that's used so extensively in Jarman's set design; I interviewed Mark Kermode about the 'Devils' re-release, and this is what he told me:
Derek Jarmen’s sets are the biggest winner of the new restoration. I’ve seen this movie before a couple of times, but seeing this new transfer on the big screen I almost said β€œOh my god” out loud a couple of times when it cut to an establishing shot of the sets.

Lee Chang-dong’s POSSIBLE LOVE is a masterpiece, and the best new movie I’ve seen all year. I really hope a lot of folks see this one on the big screen, and that Netflix will start giving its films longer theatrical windows…
