Till March 2020 govt was collecting road tax / registration fee and registering Bharat stage IV vehicles in Delhi NCR with 15 years validity of registration.
Now every year in the name of pollution control these vehicles can’t ply on Delhi roads for 4 months in a year. Shouldn’t the govt refund 1/3 of the road tax and registration charges to such vehicle owners ?
What is their fault if govt can’t control burning of crops or crackers in Delhi ?

The problem with India isn't a lack of money. It's the lack of accountability for how public money is spent.
We pay taxes on our income, purchases, fuel and vehicles. Then we risk our lives navigating roads that cannot withstand ordinary rainfall.
Who approved the work? Who inspected the quality? Who will be held responsible?
Modi Govt cannot demand credit for development while taxpayers are left paying for its failures.

"Names of 13 crore people have been removed from electoral rolls. The matter has been pending in the Supreme Court for many months and not one meaningful order has been passed. What has happened as a result? Young students and activists, civil society people have taken to the streets and having a peaceful march. What has happened to them?
They have been beaten up, pushed into police vans and it is happening right under the nose of the Supreme Court which under the Constitution has been entrusted the power to safeguard such rights of ordinary citizens": Justice Rekha Sharma

The morning article of Akash Prakash is one of the most viral financial pieces of all time. Akash Prakash holds up an uncomfortable mirror to India. And the reflection isn’t flattering.
1) Foreign investors’ holdings in Indian equities have fallen from nearly $930 billion to $675 billion.
2) A decade of India’s rise, yet net foreign investment flows have been virtually zero.
3)Indian equities have underperformed emerging markets by roughly 180 basis points annually over the past decade.
4) The blunt question: Are we confusing India’s economic potential with the returns investors can actually earn?
5) A great country story doesn’t automatically make every stock a great investment.
6) Expensive valuations, disappointing earnings growth and weaker returns can push global capital elsewhere.
7) Capital is global. It doesn’t owe India loyalty. It goes where risk-adjusted returns look better.
8) The real challenge isn’t selling the India story. It’s delivering on it.
The uncomfortable takeaway: India’s long-term prospects may remain strong. But the stock market cannot run on optimism alone. Earnings, valuations and returns eventually have to do the talking.
But in the end Akash Prakash also makes a point that all of this makes a classical case for a contra bullish bet on India. Let’s see what happens next!!

Now even legacy media is challenging the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act which severely weakens people’s right to information and curtails press freedom. The petition terms the provisions of the Act as “pre-censorship which is anathema to any democracy”.
The DPDP Act in its current form should be repealed!
EXCLUSIVE: India’s biggest news publishers including Ambani's Network18, Adani's NDTV, Indian Express, Times Internet & others mount the most high-profile challenge yet to Modi’s privacy law, warning it would “render investigative journalism a benign and neutered recorder of events.”
DNPA (@publishers_news) has taken the law to the Supreme Court. They argue it would trample investigative work and let New Delhi identify journalists’ sources.
The provisions “constitute pre-censorship which is anathema to any democracy worth its name,” the group’s 698-page filing says.
The key concerns:
🔹 Consent: requiring a journalist to notify the subject of an investigation and seek consent “would allow that subject to destroy evidence, intimidate witnesses”
🔹 Erasure: people can withdraw consent and demand their data be erased, which the group says could force publishers to unpublish or heavily redact news reports
🔹 Sources: a “nakedly unguided” power to demand information that “can extend to privileged communications in possession of a reporter or the informant”
In a letter to the government, the group said India “has chosen to grant broad exemptions to the state, while failing to extend any corresponding protection to the press.”

In Joda, Badbil, the dust from the iron-ore mines is so bad that locals have developed cardio-vascular diseases.
In Lanjigarh, the sky looks red from the red dust of Vedanta's alumina refinery.
In Sukinda, prolong exposure to chromite contamination has developed lung cancer and bladder cancer.
In Koraput, the red mud pond discharge was so bad that CAG had to haul up NALCO after villagers complained.
So yes behenchod, villagers and tribals are affected. India is governed by laws and not the whims and fancies of corporate shills and dalals. Let us stop thinking about how local people's lives are affected. Stop the provision of needing gram sabha approvals. Stop environmental impact assessments. Just sell entire State to Adani Vedanta without due diligence.

Couple bought 40 properties for 6.8 crore.
1 Luxurious villa at 15-16 lakhs.
It's impossible to get a modest 1 BHK at that price even on the outskirts of Udaipur.
Meet IAS Shikhar Aggrawal and IPS Prashakha Mathur from Rajasthan Cadre
> Purchased 40 Villas and cottages in 2.5 years from a company
> Leased them back to same company for rent of 1.8 crore Annually
> Out of all the villas and cottages only 14 are disclosed in their IPR.
Who says govt employees don't get good salary ? How many corporate couples can afford to buy 40 Villas and cottages ?
The Indian government's privacy law, which would require journalists to seek consent from people they write about, amounted to pre-censorship and could lead to newsrooms shutting down, media groups told the Supreme Court, starting the most high-profile challenge against the legislation reut.rs/4yKkfFc

It’s happening.
RBI recommends the finance minister to eliminate the LRS outflow limit from $250K to $0 & lower it to $50K for education & healthcare spends. It’s all on predictable lines. No domestic money can exit India. Looks like it’s the HNIs taking $ out. Don’t blame FIIs
