Just fix the potholes bro, you are not Socrates
This growth did not happen by chance.
I decided to become a professional fisherman, using fishing to support my family. Living next to a dam and ocean, I felt the need to focus my fishing career in the ocean instead of a dam.
I literally lived in the ocean, daily catching fish and going back to shore to deliver it to the market and back to the ocean.
I am glad our plans were rewarded.

Cyril Ramaphosa is a legend.
He took the ANC from 61% to 31% in just under 10 years.
Cyril Ramaphosa saved South Africa from the ANC.

Five hung metros. One majority. Zero comfort.
The IEC numbers tell you who can sit at the table. The politics tells you who gets to stay there.
JOHANNESBURG - 270 seats. Majority: 136.
DA 98. ANC 53. ActionSA 44.
DA + ActionSA = 142. Four-seat cushion.
That is not a coalition. That is a hostage situation with a whips' office.
One floor-crossing, one resignation, one sick day - and the council flips. The ANC waits in the wings. Not because it has the numbers. Because instability is the only strategy left that still works.
TSHWANE 214 seats. Majority: 108.
DA 74. ActionSA 47. ANC 43.
ActionSA is not kingmaker here. It is the only king.
The ANC cannot govern without them. The DA cannot govern without them. Every portfolio, every deputy mayor, every committee chair goes through ActionSA's hands first.
The question is not whether ActionSA gets leverage. It is whether it can spend the leverage without collapsing the thing it just won.
EKURHULENI 224 seats. Majority: 113.
DA 71. ANC 48. ActionSA 42.
DA + ActionSA = 113.
Exactly on the line. No cushion. No margin. No forgiveness.
This is the most fragile coalition in the country. If it forms, it does so on borrowed time. If it fails, the ANC defaults through smaller parties not because the ANC has the votes, but because everyone else runs out of options first.
ETHEKWINI 223 seats. Majority: 112.
MK 90. DA 54. ANC 38.
MK needs 22. The ANC has 38. The math is obvious. The politics is ugly.
MK was born as a split from the ANC. Governing with the parent party in its own backyard is not alliance. It is surrender dressed as pragmatism.
The alternative MK + DA at 144 is mathematically dominant and politically absurd. Unless the numbers force it. And the numbers always force things eventually.
NELSON MANDELA BAY 120 seats. Majority: 61.
DA 53.
Eight seats. That is all that stands between majority rule and another round of scrambling.
EFF. ACDP. Whoever has the seats. This one gets resolved first because it is the easiest math in the country.
MANGAUNG 101 seats. Majority: 51.
ANC 36. DA 33.
Fifteen seats either way. Thirty-two seats floating in the hands of smaller parties.
This is where the ANC's national dominance means nothing. The local machine either holds or it doesn't. And if it doesn't, Mangaung goes into administration. Not coalition. Not agreement. Provincial intervention.
The quiet part.
The ANC and DA have never formed a municipal coalition together. Not in 2024's 142 councils. Not in the 33 that followed.
The GNU exists at national level. The municipal level stays silent.
That silence is the whole story.
Because the numbers tell you who can sit at the table. The politics tells you who gets to stay there. And if history is any guide, none of them do.

DA worked hard to appeal to the electorate, the electorate responded and we are here now. This is my preferences on coalitions:
Joburg: DA + ASA = Helen Zille
Tshwane: DA + ASA = Dokotela
Ekurhuleni: DA + ASA = Khathu
If both parties can swallow their pride, Gauteng will rise.

The ANC is in an extremely tricky situation right now.
(ANC + DA): Block ActionSA out, take away their mayoral platforms, and stop them eating away at the ANC township vote. Though Panyaza and the likes would hate this.
(ANC + ActionSA): Avoid DA headaches and keep executive control, but you're giving ActionSA the shine to keep eating into their voter base.
It's going to be interesting.
Given the track record of the ANC in opposition benches in Cape Town, this could see the end of the ANC entirely. Go see for yourself. Utter shambles. And steady and continued decline in Cape Town. ANC in opposition is invisible and simply disconnected entirely.

Usman Khawaja says the whole Australia team was involved in the 2018 sandpaper plot. "It was all of us. Not the batters, not the bowlers, not the staff. All of us."
He says sandpaper was used in the previous Test too. He says he sat next to Cameron Bancroft that whole Test match and was never interviewed by Cricket Australia's investigator.
In 2021, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon said in a joint statement that they did not know until they saw the images on the big screen at Newlands.
Cricket Australia says it remains "comfortable with the findings of our integrity process."
His book comes out on Tuesday. Eight years on, Australia's dressing room may have two versions of one night.

Listening to Geordin Hill-Lewis on eNCA now.
He tells parties to rise above their egos and personalities. To put the people of South Africa first. First leader who has actually said this.
He anticipates an additional 200 DA councillors joining its ranks. The DA has received over 1 million votes from black South Africans. In Cape Town, Kouga and Umgeni the DA has secured solid majorities.
The DA will be the biggest party in at least 4 metros. Manguang still close.
He says that the party has already started the work to be the biggest party in 2029.
He says they will approach coalition negotiations with other parties with deep respect for their results and humility.
He appeals for parties to rise above politics and put residents first. Emphasizes the need foe humility.
Says that cities must have a period of long and sustained progress. He invites parties who want to put South Africa first to speak to the DA. The DA has already informally reached out to various parties.
Emphasizes that coalitions must fix broken municipalities. Create opportunities. Bring down poverty and inequality.
He is explicit. He will not conduct coalition discussions via the media. That is bad faith. But all agreements will be published publicly.

To @Our_DA and @Action4SA
Understand something…
The mandate from voters matters.
If you form coalitions with those the electorate rejected out of spite or personal grievances, you will be the ones rejected in 2029.
South Africans want service delivery, not power struggles.

Trump will REMAIN President, but what he CAN'T do now:
1. *Can't pass any law:*
Needs Parliament. With Democrats at 90, all his bills will be blocked.
2. *Can't get money:*
Parliament controls the budget. No funding for his MAGA projects, Wall etc.
3. *Faces Impeachment Risk:* Democrats can start investigations and even move impeachment.
4. *Can't appoint Judges/Officials freely:* Senate will block his picks.
5. *Can't do big foreign deals:*
Trade deals, war funding needs Parliament nod.
In short: He will stay in the White House, sign Executive Orders, but Parliament and Courts can overturn them.
He becomes a *Lame Duck President* - President in name, powerless in reality.
