Going to see @TheNewPornos at @930Club on Thursday. I hope "The Laws Have Changed" ends up on the setlist as there is almost no more fitting song for living in DC today.

Man, watch Butel on this play, she’s just drifting. Neither marks anyone nor does she take away any passing angles.

Interesting. That whole goal comes from a bad angle taken by Hatch on the goalkeeper. She gets cut and the whole press breaks down from there. Ruthless from KC, for sure.

LW, Oscar Avilez, DC United Baller. So impressed with what I saw. He is playing for DCs U16s and looks like their best player. He reminds me a little bit of Mathis Albert. He is long, athletic and very direct. Loves to get out in transition and attack and controls the ball really well when running full speed. Technically solid and good decision making in the final third. He is also fantastic against the ball. He is highly disruptive and he works very hard. Really not a ton of holes in his game right now. I would be very disappointing if he isn't in the first 🇺🇸 U15 camp.

“A different GM voted for the Spirit, noting that they ‘hold their ground and, unless you hit their number, they aren't really willing to consider it.’” As a Spirit supporter, I LOVE hearing this. Proper management!
Excited to finally share an #NWSL project months in the making @espn, with twists + turns including a new CBA changing rules in question: I spoke with GMs(/equivalent) from all 14 teams, anonymously to allow candor, about the good, bad + fun of the NWSL. espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/4…

A legend. Perhaps even moreso for realizing when it was time to step away. If you only started watching the women’s game in the last few years, do yourself a favor and go back to watch the early “Baby Horse” years of Alex’s career.

A lot was placed on her shoulders as far as being a face of the USWNT and she carried that with grace.

Performance was fine. Result is poor. This team is very good right now, but they’re not elite. Still too many chances to put games away that aren’t being taken. Really missed Croix today as the final touch/ball is what was needed. #NWSL

All in all, it’s Sunday night and I’m angry. Great.

I would not read this @PitchPass. Another year, another expert telling us how DC mismanages our academy.
2024 MLS Academy Rankings It is that time again! 🔘 Philly retains the top spot, RBNY on their heals 🔘 RSL into the top 5 🔘 Ohio academies on the rise 🔘 A few traditionally big name academies on the decline ⤵️ ussoccercollective.com/mls/m…

Someone get this woman a passport. Defines what is so amazing about immigrant America.
"I love America. It made me." An emotional Emma Hayes talks with Mike Tirico after achieving gold medal glory at the #ParisOlympics with the USWNT.

Cool. Well that wasn’t worth watching. Much like the whole tournament. Flip it on for 26 minutes and all I get to see is some overzealous refereeing indulging the gamesmanship of the opposing side and crap football both ways.

Sort of crazy that it’s taken decades for NBC to figure out that if you show sports fans the sports live without edits, they enjoy the sports.
Replying to @brianstelter
NBC's "no holding back" strategy is working: The company has given up on gatekeeping the hottest events of the day until U.S. prime time. Everything in Paris has been shown live. "We are here for the audience," said Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympics Production.

Thanks for this Jonathan. Scurry is certainly one US legend that I came to love even more after I met the person. The counter-example to “never meet your idols.”
.@BriScurry knows the kids she inspired as a player are now #USWNT stars. “I feel like I’m a little bit of a mother hen,” she said as she reflected on the 25-year anniversary of the 1999 World Cup - and the current team's historic all-Black forward line: inquirer.com/soccer/briana-s…
