"People are still scared of the 18-wheeler trucks. It’s not the same thing (as robotaxis) because we’re talking about 80,000-pound trucks, right?" - PlusAI CEO
Agreed.
Also, it's a dangerous world and AV trucks are massive rolling cyber targets.

More weight on your truck. A better deal for whom?
States are expanding weight exceptions for specific haulers, while OOIDA warns about safety and infrastructure costs.

🚨There is only 1⃣ safe parking spot for every 1⃣1⃣ trucks on the road.
🙏Thank you @SecDuffy and @USDOT for making truck parking a priority.
Truck drivers across the country tell me all of the time that they need more parking for their trucks. About half of them spend more than an hour searching for a spot. THAT ENDS NOW.
We're investing $200 MILLION across 12 STATES to expand safe truck parking
Under President Trump, we will keep fighting to keep our roads safe and strengthen the backbone of our country 🇺🇸
Thank you @BulkLoads for having us on the show to tell our story!

WELL RESTED TRUCKERS are ECONOMIC DRIVERS 🚛💵
@SecDuffy is investing BIG in the beautiful port city of Savannah, Georgia to build hundreds of parking spaces for our truckers who spend way too much time looking for parking- this takes them away from moving our products and getting rest so they are safe

FMCSA removed a hurdle. Driverless trucking companies are preparing to expand.
Aurora and Kodiak are laying out plans to put more trucks on the road without anyone in the cab. OOIDA says there’s no substitute for a well-trained driver.

DID YOU KNOW…
40% of truckers spend MORE THAN AN HOUR every day FINDING A SPOT TO PARK!
That is NOT RIGHT
Not only is it frustrating and dangerous, it holds them up from doing their job of delivering valuable products to YOU
We are FIXING THAT by adding safe parking spaces for them in 12 STATES @FMCSA

When a road sign warns of danger, comprehension can’t wait.
@OOIDA says understanding road signs and emergency instructions is a life-and-death requirement for truckers. Now, it’s backing a proposal to make English-proficiency enforcement harder to roll back.

ALT A highway scene with lush green mountains in the background. The road sign indicates a left turn to a "Runaway Truck Ramp" in 3/4 mile. Text on the image reads: "The only thing separating safe trips from deadly ones can be a simple road sign. — OOIDA President Todd Spencer." A white and red truck is visible driving on the road. The bottom right corner displays the LL Media logo.
ICYMI: CMCI is becoming OOIDA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, we're bringing a familiar service under the OOIDA name.
For decades, truckers and small carriers have relied on the program for help navigating DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements. That commitment isn’t changing.
Same experienced team.
Same compliance support.
Same commitment to truckers.
Just a new name that makes it clear who has your back.

Same highway. Different rules.
Truckers have to place roadside warning devices. Driverless trucking companies just got a five-year exemption allowing cab-mounted beacons instead.
OOIDA calls it a corporate carve-out. Do you agree?

Rules for thee, but not for me.
Truckers still have to place warning triangles. Aurora and other driverless trucking companies just got a five-year alternative from FMCSA, despite drivers’ objections. @OOIDA is pushing back.

Thank you @RepHageman for your leadership in Congress to crack down on chameleon carriers.
These scam artists not only undermine America's professional truckers, but also put every family traveling on our highways at risk.
Chameleon carriers are trucking companies that evade safety enforcement actions to continue operating on our roads. These are bad actors flooding the highways with dangerous drivers while driving down the wages of our own domestic workforce. My bill, the SAFE Act, cracks down on these carriers and was included in this year’s surface transportation package.
