I just came across this video of Edwin Sifuna being gifted a pair of shoes, if you've been keen, he actually wears them todate.

What a magnificent spectacle of political irony! The Equatable Party (TEP) is mockingly christened “The Empty Party,” yet the language of equity and equality suddenly becomes fashionable in the very political circles ridiculing it. From TEP’s “Tusawazishe” to UDA’s “Usawa ni Sawa,” the resemblance is striking, even if imitation remains unproven. Meanwhile, @edwinsifuna 's efforts to register Linda Mwananchi have encountered legal and administrative hurdles. How fascinating that a party dismissed as empty can generate so much political attention! As Oscar Wilde observed, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.” But slogans are not policies, and political branding is no substitute for constitutional principle. Article 27 guarantees equality, while Article 38 protects political participation. If usawa is truly the guiding philosophy, its first test should be the fair and consistent treatment of political competitors. You cannot preach equality from the podium while applying unequal standards at the registration desk. Otherwise, Usawa ni Sawa risks becoming a beautiful slogan in search of an equally beautiful practice. What delicious irony! Empty vessel is making the loudest noise - @LindaMwananchi_

It’s actually the other way round Mr. President. There is a reason the right to life and the fundamental freedoms come first in the Bill of Rights. More than anything else we want to live in a free and democratic country because in the dark of the grave where you put Rex Maasai and Albert Ojwang, you can’t see shiny things.
President William Ruto has declared that freedom and democracy are meaningless without development, sharpening the political debate with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna over what Kenya needs ahead of the 2027 general election. Read the full story here: shorturl.at/rIhJz
