WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners. Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads. Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was. Got a root shell. then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems. This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.

i own a relatively new (2025) samsung tv. i kept getting weirdly targeted ads. i tried reversing the firmware but it was aes encrypted and no keys unless tear it apart and do uart/jtag magic. zero days it is. root shell on new samsung TVs! discovered PRIVACY HORROR. write up?

Just so you know, none of this is off the cuff. There were discussions about what clothes to wear. There were discussions about what drinks and snacks should be on the table, and the order/manner in which they should be eaten. There were definitely discussions about what TV to watch. This is the cringiest PR exercise ever, and it took prep time to get that embarrassing.

So why is that peat domes across 2m hectares of Borneo’s rainforests ablaze, at immense cost to people and animals, many endangered or vulnerable, and media aren’t carrying a word on it? I know the absurdity of net zero has created insane incentives to replace virgin rainforest with oil palms, but wouldn’t you think this would raise some alarm, even among that twisted species of people who think that doing some of this is good for the planet?

This is insane. This High Protein Beef mince in Lidl is only 60% beef. There’s nothing on the front label. It’s only when you turn over the ingredients you see it’s 20% pea protein and the other 20% is water and seasoning .. you are buying 40% less meat than you think.!
