In today's date, ~1.7 million bacterial genomes are being hosted in NCBI. Salmonella Enterica and Escherichia Coli represent around 40% of those genomes. Considering only the species that make 1% or more , we have 12 bacteria summing to ~64% of all bacterial genomes.

Congratulations to BGU's @itzhak_mizrahi, who was awarded the JNF Climate Solutions Prize! @LabMizrahi is manipulating the microbiome so that cows burp less methane. Great example of the research coming out of the Goldman-Sonnenfeldt School of Sustainability and #ClimateChange
