Press Release by Dr. Moses Paul (Dr Mo) The National Cordinator, Obidient Movement
PRESS STATEMENT MY APPOINTMENT AS NATIONAL COORDINATOR OF THE OBIDIENT MOVEMENT: A CALL TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS TO RISE, ORGANISE AND RECLAIM THEIR FUTURE Nigeria has reached a point where silence is complicity and inaction is surrender. The time to act is NOW! I sincerely thank His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, and the leadership and members of the Obidient Movement for the confidence reposed in me through my appointment as National Coordinator. I accept this responsibility with humility and a firm commitment to the mission ahead. I am not accepting a title; I am accepting the responsibility to organise a generation and strengthen a movement whose mission is bigger than any individual. TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS: YOUR COUNTRY IS CALLING! How much longer must Nigerians endure hunger, unemployment, poverty, collapsing businesses and bad governance while corruption, waste and impunity thrive? Nigeria does not belong to politicians. It belongs to all of us, particularly the young generation whose future must not be sacrificed to the interests of a political elite. Our frustration is justified, but anger without organisation achieves little. We must move beyond hashtags and complaints to organised, peaceful and determined democratic action. We must become informed, active citizens who demand accountability and defend democracy. OUR VISION: FROM MOVEMENT TO NATIONAL FORCE The Obidient Movement represents the aspirations of millions who believe that competence, character, compassion and accountability must define leadership. Mr Peter Obi has inspired Nigerians to believe that a different country is possible, but rebuilding Nigeria requires organised citizens, not one individual. My priority is to build a functional, disciplined and inclusive structure across every state, LGA, ward, community and polling unit. Our direction will rest on five pillars: ORGANISE: Build functional structures with clear responsibilities and measurable results. UNITE: Overcome internal divisions and put the mission above personal interests. LISTEN: Give youths, women, professionals, workers and ordinary Nigerians a meaningful voice. COMMUNICATE: Establish coordinated, professional and truthful communication to counter misinformation. MOBILISE: Turn supporters into active citizens through civic education, voter participation and grassroots engagement. 2027: DEFEND OUR DEMOCRACY! Reports of suspected AI-generated photographs in INEC's preliminary voter register and alleged irregularities in voter and polling-unit figures demand urgent investigation. One reported case alleges that a polling unit associated with Governor Monday Okpebholo increased from 397 registered voters in 2024 to 4,783 in 2026. If these records are verified as comparable for the same polling unit, this discrepancy demands a transparent explanation. INEC must provide answers and submit the register to an independent forensic audit. These allegations must not be treated as proof of electoral fraud, but neither should they be dismissed without investigation. We must prepare in advance with voter education, trained polling-unit volunteers, election monitoring, proper documentation, and lawful defence of the people's votes. The 2027 election must reflect the genuine choices of Nigerians, not manipulated records or electoral impunity. UNITY, RECOGNITION AND ACCOUNTABILITY I recognise and appreciate Dr Yunusa Tanko for his dedication and contributions to the Movement. I am not coming to replace anyone but to work with everyone. No individual owns this Movement, and nobody should be bigger than its purpose. Leadership must be measured by service, commitment and results. Every coordinator, volunteer and supporter has a role to play in this national assignment. MY CHARGE TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS If not us, who? If not now, when? Reject the normalisation of poverty, ethnic and religious divisions, political manipulation and the sale of your conscience. Your PVC, your voice and your participation matter.

Dr. Moses Paul Calls for Caution Against Misinformation and Attempts to Create Division Within Obidient Movement Dr. Mo has called on members to be cautious of misinformation, deliberate infiltration and attempts to create division within the movement amid recent political conversations and reactions. Responding to a comment on the ongoing discussions, Dr. Mo urged members to exercise discernment, maintain mutual respect and avoid allowing personal political differences to undermine the unity of the movement. He reaffirmed that the Obidient Movement remains committed to its collective political choice and the shared aspiration for a better Nigeria, stressing that the movement must remain focused on its larger mission.
I have followed the conversations and reactions surrounding the recent statements by Datti Baba-Ahmed and others. I believe it is important to put a few things in perspective, calmly, thoughtfully and without unnecessary emotions. First, the Obidient Movement remains a family. A family brought together by a common aspiration, shared convictions and an unwavering desire to see Nigeria work for all its citizens. The Obidient Movement is fundamentally about good governance, accountability, competence, character, security, education, economic opportunities and, above all, the dignity of the Nigerian people. For those who have had the privilege of engaging closely with Mr. @PeterObi, one thing I have consistently observed is his disposition towards people. He often refers to others, including those with whom he may have political differences, as his elder or younger brothers. He recognises that human relationships and mutual respect must transcend politics. We must learn from that disposition. Nigeria has several opposition leaders, including Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and others pursuing their political aspirations. They deserve respect. They have their individual strengths, experiences and contributions to our nation's political development. However, the Obidient Movement, as a collective, has made a conscious political choice. We have chosen to focus our energy, commitment and mobilisation around Mr. @PeterObi because we believe he best represents the competence, capacity, character, compassion, energy and values we desire in national leadership. That is our choice, just as others are entitled to make theirs. Some of my very good friends and respected comrades have moved on to other political platforms. Everyone has the right to choose their political affiliations, convictions and leanings. Nobody should be vilified, insulted or treated as an enemy for exercising that right. But there is another issue we must not ignore. We must be conscious that some individuals deliberately penetrate or infiltrate the Obidient Movement, sometimes presenting themselves as genuine members, supporters or stakeholders, only to introduce misinformation, provoke unnecessary controversies, distort conversations, misrepresent positions and deliberately create divisions within our ranks. Some make provocative statements in the name of the movement, while others deliberately attribute their personal opinions, political interests or manufactured narratives to the Obidient family. We must be discerning. Not everyone who claims to be an Obidient represents the movement, and not everyone who invokes our name speaks for us. We must not allow infiltrators, mischief-makers or agents of misinformation to define our identity, dictate our conversations or undermine the trust we have built over time. Disagreements are normal in every family. Political differences should never become an excuse for hostility, suspicion or the destruction of relationships. Equally, unity must not mean abandoning our principles or surrendering our collective responsibility to speak the truth. Let us also remember that the Obidient Movement is a people driven movement anchored on the demand for a better Nigeria. Our support for Mr. Peter Obi is a political expression of that larger aspiration, not a licence to disrespect others or abandon the values that brought us together. The Obidient Movement is bigger than individuals, social media conversations, personal ambitions and temporary political disagreements. Let us organise, mobilise, enlighten, protect our integrity and remain focused. Let us disagree without destroying one another, and let us never allow those who seek to divide us to distract us from the bigger mission. The mission is bigger than all of us. One family. One purpose. One collective aspiration. Mr. @PeterObi is coming, and A New Nigeria is POssible! Dr. Mo National Coordinator Obidient Movement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Chatham House Urged to Review Platforming of INEC Chairman Amupitan Amid Voters Register Credibility Crisis LONDON / ABUJA — In the light of public interest, the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) is called upon to critically evaluate its upcoming event on 12 November 2026, featuring the Chairman of Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan. The Chairman is scheduled to speak on "Democratic trajectory and regional stability beyond the ballot," a topic that critics argue contrasts sharply with INEC's current domestic operational realities. This call follows a highly controversial admission on 30 October 2026 by INEC’s own Director of ICT, Lawrence Bayode. Speaking on live television, Bayode confirmed that the national voters register—the fundamental bedrock of any democratic election—has been compromised by the inclusion of fictitious, AI-generated voter profiles. The legal, operational, and ethical implications of this breach are profound: • Compromised Database Integrity: A corrupted database undermines the legitimacy of any electoral process. It is mathematically and operationally impossible to deliver a transparent, credible election using a compromised register. • The Facade of Technological Advancement: While INEC presents itself internationally as a polished, technologically advanced institution, its internal operations continue to suffer from severe irregularities and internal manipulations. • Accountability Before International Dialogue: Advocates argue that before lecturing a global audience on democratic trajectories, INEC leadership must first answer to the Nigerian electorate and deliver transparency for the critical 2027 general elections. International partners, tech providers, and democratic stakeholders must not allow public relations platforms to overshadow the urgent need for domestic electoral accountability and database remediation. #ExposingINEC #INECIsCorrupt #NigeriaElections2027 @IFES1987 @Microsoft @Meta @Google @Risenetworks @FCDOGovUK @UNDP @IECSouthAfrica @USAID @macfound @ecowas_cedeao

Replying to @inecnigeria
@inecnigeria You can not preach credibility abroad whilst undermining democracy at home. International institutions must not give platforms to officials of @inecnigeria, an electoral management body, that is actively compromising the sanctity of the ballot in it's domestic operations. Giving a platform to @inecnigeria contradicts the very democratic values @ChathamHouse claims to champion. True institutional validation cannot happen on global stages, whilst core democratic practices at home, remain compromised. We stand firmly for electoral transparency, robust institutional checks and a system that truly reflects the will of the Nigerian people. We demand electoral transparency and absolute accountability. No legitimacy for doctored register 🙅🏾‍♀️ 🇳🇬 @inecnigeria cannot legally and operationally conduct anything close to a credible election with a national voters register that is known to be compromised. #ExposingINEC #INECIsCorrupt #INECMustBeHeldAccountable #FreeAndFairElections #ChathamHouse #StandForNigeria #ElectoralIntergrity #DefendingThePeoplesMandateStartsHere @IFES1987 @Microsoft @Meta @Google @Risenetworks @FCDOGovUK @UNDP @IECSouthAfrica @USAID @macfound @ecowas_cedeao @ChathamHouse

The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Mo, has raised concerns over the potential use of Artificial Intelligence to manipulate Nigeria’s electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections. He warned that AI could potentially be exploited to create fake voter identities, manipulate voter records and fabricate election results, urging INEC to immediately conduct an independent forensic audit of the voter register and assess the cybersecurity integrity of BVAS, IReV and collation systems. Dr. Mo stressed that the warning is a preventive concern, not an allegation that such manipulation has already occurred, and called for transparency, accountability and independent verification to safeguard the credibility of the 2027 elections.

Bayelsa is OK 🇳🇬
Over the weekend, I visited my home state of Bayelsa and my community Toru-Orua the first time in a long while, precisely since the funeral of our late Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, my loyal brother and mentee. After returning to Abuja from the funeral, I became deeply engrossed in the registration and building of the NDC, a process that has occupied much of my time over the past months. I was pleased to be accompanied on this visit by our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi, CON, who spent the entire day and evening in Bayelsa with his entourage, including the Director-General of our National Campaign Council, Mallam Ibrahim Abdulkarim. I thank our National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas; members of the National Working Committee; our State Chairman and members of the State Executive Committee; local government and ward chairmen; and all party members and leaders across the state. I particularly appreciate the Chairman of the State Elders’ Caucus, Dr. Osusu, and the Bayelsa West Caucus Chairman, Elder Suru Oyarde, alongside other caucus members. I thank the state campaign coordinator, Prof. Opuala Charles and all the members of the campaign team. I also thank all our candidates, including our senatorial and National Assembly candidates and the 24 House of Assembly candidates, for mobilising in large numbers to receive us at the airport and accompany us to the party secretariat, where I was overwhelmed by the mammoth crowd. We subsequently commissioned our state secretariat. From there, we proceeded to my country home in Toru-Orua. I am grateful to the Chiefs and elders of Sagbama community for their warm reception and gifts. I equally thank the people of Bolu-Orua and Toru-Angiama, my paternal ancestral community, and all the communities along the route that came out in large numbers to welcome us. My special thanks go to the Paramount Ruler of Toru-Orua, the chiefs and elders, the youths, women and party faithful across Bayelsa and beyond. I thank our Rivers State Governorship Candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs; South-South state chairmen and other party leaders from neighbouring states; and everyone who contributed to the success of the visit. I also thank the security agencies, musicians and media organisations that covered the events. During my remarks, I introduced our presidential candidate to the people of Bayelsa and urged them to support and vote for him, as he is contesting on the platform of the NDC our party. I also called for a minute of silence in honour of the late Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, with whom I discussed the NDC after I decided on its formation. Just as I also mentioned it to the current Governor, advising him not to decamp to the APC. I called on our people to honour the legacies of our political forebears, especially Harold Dapabiriye, founder of the pre-independence Niger Delta Congress; and His Excellency, the late Chief Melford Okilo, elected the first preindependence House of Representatives on the platform the NDC; Isaac Adaka Boro; Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; and Pa Edwin Clark, among others. I also discussed the formation of the NDC with our leader and father, His Excellency President Goodluck Jonathan. The NDC represents a long tradition of political leadership founded on the struggle for equity, justice and an inclusive Nigeria. Our forebears understood that advancing the interests of our people also required building bridges of trust understanding across the country. This is the tradition I have inherited and the responsibility I consider it my duty to sustain. I hope the younger generation will embrace this legacy of service, service with conviction for the betterment of all.

IMO STATE: OUR CONVERSATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT WITH THE PEOPLE CONTINUE Our conversations and engagement with the people continued yesterday, 31st October 2026, as we journeyed from Yenagoa to Owerri, Imo State, for another edition of our ongoing town hall meeting series. Upon arrival, I began with a visit to one of the markets in Owerri, where I interacted with traders, buyers and other residents. Their stories and experiences offered yet another sobering reminder of how difficult life has become for ordinary Nigerians under the harsh economic policies of this administration. In my remarks at the town hall meeting, I reminded the good people of Imo State that, after more than three years in office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not considered it necessary to spend even one night in Imo State, despite spending over 260 days abroad. Meanwhile, his administration has accumulated enormous debts without delivering commensurate improvements in the lives of Nigerians. Our country is now ranked among the hungriest nations in the world, with over 140 million people living in multidimensional poverty. To compound this crisis, Nigeria remains one of the most terrorised countries in the world, while approximately 18 million children are out of school. I reassured the people of Imo State that all hope is not lost. Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and I are committed to securing and uniting our country, making massive investments in critical sectors such as health and education, and lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty. Among the leading contenders, we believe we possess the experience, competence, capacity, commitment and readiness required to undertake the difficult but necessary task of turning Nigeria around. During the interactive session, questions were also raised about the protection of our votes. I encouraged our people to come out in their numbers, exercise their democratic rights and, more importantly, remain vigilant and stay with their votes until the final results are declared. I sincerely thank our teeming supporters, party candidates, party members, organisers and, most importantly, the good people of Imo State for their warmth, enthusiasm and overwhelming support. The journey to a new Nigeria is a collective responsibility. Together, we can build a country that works for everyone. A New Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO

A WARNING TO INEC AND ALL RELEVANT AUTHORITIES: NIGERIA MUST NOT ALLOW AI-POWERED ELECTORAL MANIPULATION! The emergence of AI-generated identities and the potential manipulation of voter records pose a serious threat to the integrity of our democracy. The 2027 elections must not become an opportunity for technology to undermine the will of the Nigerian people. INEC must wake up to its responsibility. We demand immediate, independent forensic investigation and a comprehensive audit of the voter register, identity records and relevant electoral technology. Nigerians deserve transparency, accountability and verifiable safeguards. We call on the Nigerian people, civil society, technology experts and all relevant security and regulatory authorities to take this matter seriously. Everyone must take responsibility. Silence and complacency are not options. The integrity of our votes is non-negotiable. The future of Nigeria is at stake, and we must not allow anyone to compromise it.
