Andrew Wilson and the Afande who led in the arrest of Kizza Besigye has today accepted that the two guns that were found in Kizza Besigye's hotel were actually given to him from Mbuya Police Station to go and place them in his hotel to be used as evidence to what he's facing today.
He then went on to accept that even though it was important to make further investigation, none went to Switzerland to make anything like an investigation at a crime scene.

Team Baby Oyo, our hope is here.
I quote, “His mother is still here. His sister is still here. His child is still here. His people are still here. And God is still with us.”

Tooro, my beloved kingdom, We lost a King, I lost a brother. We have lost a son. But we must not lose each other.
Let us mourn together, let us seek the truth together and let us protect Tooro together.

The biggest hypocritical irony in all this is how Mwenda is the loudest critic against imposing a leader on people (Tooro), while at the same time being a facilitator of a brutal usurpation and abuse of power at a national scale. So, is it about what is right or what he wants?

I believe in our culture. Oyo left a will. Pushing it aside will bring wars in Tooro in the future. Wills of Kings will begin to be trashed. And history will remember that it started with our own Oyo's will. Please fight for his legacy. Oyo was not only a King for Tooro. #Allofus

When Besigye was kidnapped from Nairobi, the air was thick with claims. Regime insiders insisted they held watertight evidence of treason. That was the story sold to the public.
Now the white man called Orlando stands in court presenting his videos and audio recordings. And the moment those materials hit the table, they fail the most basic tests of evidentiary law. In the law of evidence we do not spend time trying to salvage scrap. Scrap belongs in the dustbin, not in a court of law.
Even without the best or most independent lawyers, even with counsel the state itself has selected, anyone who actually cares about justice can dismantle this narrative. It lacks substance from the foundation up. One can fairly conclude that this foreigner was far more interested in pouring money into a mission designed to make Besigye look like a terrorist than in any genuine intelligence work that uncovered a real security threat to the state.
Why should a court waste its time listening to a concoction?

UPDATE: The Uganda Government has urged refugees to consider returning to their countries of origin amid declining humanitarian funding. Speaking to journalists after addressing delegates at a regional workshop on Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Kampala, Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees Samuel Engola said Uganda is hosting more than two million refugees but is operating with less than half of the funding required to support them. Engola said at least 17,000 refugees have registered to voluntarily return to Burundi, even as Uganda continues to receive people fleeing conflicts elsewhere.

#UnpopularOpinion #818. Banyankore. When did we start asking the groom’s side to fund some aspect of Kuhungira ceremony? Abashwezi are asked to pay money to feed the groom’s entourage in what is known as “mwekunire”. If you can’t feed your guests on the give away ceremony of your daughter, how do you expect to be respected by abakwe? Kindly stop this “mwekunire” wave that’s demeaning our culture.

Muhoozi prevented Besigye's release.
It's sad that a young spoilt man now has influence over figures like Besigye,Lukwago...all the way to shutting down NMG.
Because he is a president's son.

My message to every Ugandan irrespective of your political party or religious dominion.
Uganda 🇺🇬 Judiciary is bought by cadre judges assigned to persecute not bring just and fair judgement. Already sold to the highest funder.
What is the Judiciary’s agenda in @kizzabesigye1 trial? Are they a neutral arbiter? The provisions of a fair trial are very clear in Article 28 of the Constitution @JudiciaryUG
A right to a fair trial is non derogable (Article 44)

A clean environment is important, and this initiative is welcome.
But as we clean our streets, let’s also clean up the injustice in our country. The Office of the Prime Minister previously stated that John Bosco Kibalama was in government custody. His family deserves answers, and he deserves to be brought home.
A truly clean nation is one that values both a clean environment and justice for its people.

Right to Information (RTI) laws exist in #Kenya, #Rwanda and #Uganda—but implementation gaps persist. Kenya has the strongest legal protections, Rwanda offers robust safeguards, while Uganda's framework remains more limited.
Across all three countries, broad exemptions, weak enforcement and no penalties for unlawful refusals continue to restrict access to public information. Join @tiuganda1 @TIKenya & @TI_Rwanda this Thursday 23rd July 2026 from 7:00PM - 8:00PM in an X-Space as we break down these provisions and their impact on anti-corruption.
