A win for our parks! 💚🌳
After weeks of organizing and community action, the BET set the Park Board’s maximum levy at the full 5.86% requested.
Thank you to everyone who testified, emailed, made postcards, showed up & spoke out.
🚨 TOMORROW: The Board of Estimate & Taxation meets again at 4 PM.
Last week, BET members were unable to reach an agreement on the final levy. They’re back Tuesday to continue the conversation.

This might be the first protest sign to ever reference the Board of Estimate and Taxation. Many here for the public hearing are asking the BET to set a max property tax levy that allows the park board to receive the additional $3 million they asked for.
