From Carter's order: "Never before in American history has the federal government, on the eve of an election, sought to coerce a state and local government to abandon their own Constitutional elections procedures and bend to the will of the Executive Branch."
BREAKING: Judge Carter denied an emergency motion that would have blocked California officials from counting about 20,000 ballots from voters whose citizenship the administration questioned. Story coming

Guy whose mother-in-law is named Lakshmi Chilikuri pretending that Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan are too tough to pronounce. Vance's "I'm just a good old boy"'s act grows more tiresome and less believable by the day.
JD Vance says of the Middle East that it's "a region of the world made up of countries whose name I couldn't even pronounce"

Listen to the clip. He strongly suggests people who do not believe "Jesus came here for our salvation" should not be in elected federal office.
Moreno says El-Sayed can’t be a senator because he doesn’t understand that Jesus came here for our salvation.

Kind of striking from the man who bent the knee to a man (Trump) who publicly mocked his wife as unattractive, which is not the kind of thing that would generally be called “manly” behavior in your typical Texas bar- or country club for that matter.
Sen. @tedcruz (R-TX) on U.S. Sen. candidate James Talarico (D-TX): "If you were to sit down and make a list of the top 1,000 adjectives to describe James Talarico, masculine would not be one of them."

I was in the room multiple times when President Biden met with and prayed with Catholic bishops. They didn’t run cameras, because he and those present didn’t want to politicize prayer and encounter for electoral gain. When Biden lost his second child in May 2015, he prayed nearly all night in front of the Blessed Sacrament. It’s the same thing he did in 1972 when he lost his daughter and late wife to a drunk driver. He went to Mass every single Sunday as president, oftentimes next to the parish cemetery of his children, and relied on his faith to guide him through hell and high water. You might not like his politics, but I encourage you to act with Christian charity towards the sincerity of his faith and take the view of the late Pope Francis, who called him a “good Catholic” in 2021.
If a Democratic president asked bishops to pray over him, they should say yes. This unfortunately must remain a hypothetical since our (allegedly) Catholic former president never met with the bishops at all!

RFKs racist rant against Arabs was despicable. It was personally offensive since Alex Azar and myself —both Arab Americans —were his predecessors. I am proud of my Arab heritage. He is a bigot and a racist.

Scott Pelley predicts there will be “huge consolidation” between CBS News and CNN. “Do you need two Washington bureaus? Do you need two London bureaus? That kind of thing. ... With $80 billion in debt, those two news organizations are going to get conflated into one – I’m quite certain.”
During panel discussion organized by the group Speak Up For Justice, Scott Pelley says: "In my experience, and having talked to my colleagues as well, there was an imperative to move our coverage in the direction of the president. To put a thumb on the scale, if you will, in terms of the president's viewpoint. ... I had never seen anything like this. This was corporate influence coming into the news division saying, 'We want you to report stories with this particular bent, in terms of politics.' It was anathema to all of us who had worked at 60 Minutes for so many years, and we fought the battle against it. We pushed back against it."
