Tomorrow, vote for a Toronto that lives up to its full potential. A city where you can get home on time, afford to build a life with your family, and feel safe in your neighbourhood. We know what Toronto can be. Let's vote to get it there.

At 22 years old, Allan “Scotty” Davidson was captain of the Toronto Blueshirts, the team that would later become the Toronto Maple Leafs, and led his team to the city’s first Stanley Cup victory. He left his team, his career, and his home behind to become one of the first professional hockey players to volunteer for the Canadian Expeditionary Force. On June 16, 1915, he was killed in action after a shell exploded near him in the trenches. He was one of the many thousands of Canadians who never came home and whose names and stories should never be forgotten. legion.ca/dontforget

🚔💔 Mark Long spent his career in the RCMP and Halifax Regional Police, then spent the years after it telling the truth about what the job takes. PTSD cost him the work, the purpose, and nearly his life. On July 7, 2017, he sat on a bench at his kids’ school and decided he was done. He got help. Then he built Cracked Armour in 2018, and later Returning Warriors Ranch in Nova Scotia, so the next cop, firefighter, corrections officer, soldier, or veteran wouldn’t have to sit on that bench alone. He spoke about the crack in the armour on purpose. So someone still on shift, still in uniform, still pretending they’re fine, would know they’re not the only one. Mark died suddenly. The work doesn’t die with him. If you’re carrying it, say it out loud. Call someone. I’ve Got Your 6. Rest easy, brother. ⚫️🔵⚫️ #CrackedArmour #IGY6 #EndTheStigma #cdnpoli #FirstResponders

🚔 Today we stand for the ones who didn’t come home. 49th Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial. Parliament Hill. Names read. Families in the front row. Flags at half-mast. Six more names go on the glass this year. More than 900 already there. They signed up so the rest of us didn’t have to face what they faced. They are our heroes. ⚫️🔵⚫️ We shall not forget them. #HeroesInLife #cdnpoli
