If we imagine an Abergynolwyn clone building in place of the old FR one at right, and visualize that the original platform on the south side probably only went as far as the loop, and take into account that the rest of the resemblance comes from the 65 rebuild, it works

of course in Skarloey's case both running lines would head off in different directions at bottom left on this diagram rather than connect back to one another

Skarloey's description, with two through lines, and a passing loop, goods yard and engine shed beyond the station on the original alignment seems to be a relatively consistent match with Tan-Y-Bwlch

The pervasive inability to separate the idea of "liking a thing" from "I want to fuck the thing" should be studied by experts
