3) We find DDK to be required for efficient Sae2-MRX mediated resection initiation, via phosphorylation of Sae2 and consequent stimulation of the Sae2-MRX nucleolytic activity.
2) We observe an impairment in DNA end resection in both yeast and human cells upon depletion/inhibition of DDK, and consistently, identify resection proteins Sae2 and Dna2 to be targeted by DDK.
1) We find DDK to be required for DSB repair via HR in budding yeast, and by using phospho-proteomics, identify a widespread involvement of DDK in phosphorylating DNA repair proteins.
Our new work lead by Lorenzo Galanti is out in @NatureComms. New function of DDK in regulating HR and DSB resection in budding yeast and human cells. Check it out here nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
It's moving day for the Pfander lab. Everything is boxed in... A big thanks to everybody for the tremendous help!
Some late news from the 6th German-French DNA Repair meeting in Mainz: the DGDR best poster awards went to Timea Marton, Fadma Lakhal and @IoannisChemist . Awarded by DGDR chairman @schumacherbj . Congratulations!!
Good Morning Coffee Dortmund-style... The PfanderLab is very excited to be moving to @TU_Dortmund
The German Society for DNA Repair Research (DGDR e.V.) awards the 2023 Stefan Jentsch Award to Dr. Arturo Bujarrabal-Dueso from University of Cologne for his outstanding PhD work. Congratulations!!
