The modern Left has taboos, magic words, sacred priesthoods you can't question, child sacrifice, violent demands for ideological conformity, and Utopian promises of a world without suffering.
But MAGA (many of whom no longer support Trump because he failed on promises) is a cult.

"Your target's reaction is your real action" is gonna get relevant in Europe soon. The real enemy is the government that's letting these things boil over, no doubt so they can install some BS surveillance and control system across Europe to "solve" the crisis they created.

Flock cameras empower the justice system. There is bipartisan consensus that the American justice system is corrupt. Consequently, there is bipartisan consensus that Flock cameras are evil. It's not rocket science. Flock's popularity aligns with the popularity of American judges.

Tolkien, Lewis, Chesterton etc. are a great introduction to the Great Tradition, one of the virtues of which is that you can start anywhere. Obviously you want to go back to the sources which they themselves were drawing on, but one of the reason they are so deeply good for young people is that they don't just introduce you to "big ideas" or philosophy -- they introduce you to durable ways of being human.
Yes, as you pursue your education you'll need to read older things and more technical things, but if you know the benefits of a bath, a pint, a pipe -- if you learn to be a friend, fight courageously, bow the knee to a Queen -- if you can stand in awe at a holy site, memorize the right poems for the right moments, and love something beautiful -- if a student has these things they are well on their way to the true goal of education, which is not simply to produce political actors.
In this sense, Middle Earth and Narnia are the best "base" you're likely to run into in today's world for a humane education. Such a person already has the imaginative categories they need to move into Homer, Dante, St Romanos, or wherever else their studies take them.
So, as educators, instead of complaining that the kids had their imaginations formed in the shire, we should be saying, "And if you liked THAT, you're going to love..."

If American leadership doesn’t look out for Americans, they will be replaced. No amount of calling people “loser” is going to change that fact. Meritocracy within the nation is vital but a government forcing its own people to compete with foreigners for their support cannot last.

“Sorry junior, you didn’t get straight As this semester, so I’m putting you up for adoption and hiring a Chinese kid as your replacement.
This family is a meritocracy, and if I kept you in this role as my son rather than bringing in best and brightest to compete with the rest of the other families on the bloc, that would be DEI.”

If America’s leaders do not support American well-being over global economic growth they will be replaced by someone who does. The same goes for a father who doesn’t support a family, a CEO who doesn’t support a company, or a coach who doesn’t support his team. It’s common sense.

>Dante spends 30 intensive months in Scholastic philosophy/theology study after Beatrice's death irl
>writes a whole book [Convivio] recounting it
>clearly the key to understanding the Divine Comedy as a theological work through poetry from his perspective
>"self-insert fan fic"
People forget Dante’s Inferno is literally self-insert fanfic and Lovecraft is full of purple writing etc.
Classic literature isn’t exempt from criticism or issues even if they’re still great. They’re not these perfect pieces of art that haven’t been matched in 100+ years.
I’ll tell you right now Fatamoru is more consistent and conveys its message a lot clearer and more tastefully than a lot of “classic literature”

My Christian friends and brothers who have spent the last few years wrestling with the difficulties of Romans 13 and sought to prevail in a time of obvious tyranny,
I commend to you to read this admirable sermon on the matter from 1750 by Jonathan Mayhew, the likes of which have not yet been surpassed in their clarity or force. "A Discourse Concerning Unlimited Submission and Non-Resistance to the Higher Powers."
To summarize in a single brief passage:
"It is blasphemy to call tyrants and oppressors, God’s ministers. They are more properly the messengers of satan to buffet us. No rulers are properly God’s ministers, but such as are just, ruling in the fear of God."
And, to elaborate while I have you:
"If those who bear the title of civil rulers, do not perform the duty of civil rulers, but act directly counter to the sole end and design of their office ; if they injure and oppress their subjects, instead of defending their rights and doing them good ; they have not the least pretence to be honored, obeyed and rewarded, according to the apostle’s argument. For his reasoning, in order to show the duty of subjection to the higher powers, is, as was before observed, built wholly upon the supposition, that they do, in fact, perform the duty of rulers."
God Bless America!

The thing at the end of this is what gives the whole game away, where Santino thinks that the only point of this money, the thing you would do with it, is either build your pet charitable projects or buy lots of Ferraris.
But there’s a secret third thing, which is that you could run an electric car company, or a company that launches rockets, or one that builds an AI, or another one that provides satellite Internet, and so on and so on.
That’s what the money is! People don’t understand what money even is, what wealth is, to what productive uses this money is already being put.
Many such cases.
Andrew Santino & Bobby Lee: Elon Musk being a trillionaire is disgusting. “I’d keep $1 billion, use the rest for research or burn it.”
“Elon Musk is a trillionaire right? Gross! F*ck him. What’s he going to do with all that”
“If I had that I’d keep a billion and put the rest into cancer research or burn it like the joker”
“You can do two things. Either help society or burn it”

Being "Woke" means having been fed a blackpill by people who want to manipulate you through your frustration and despair.
Woke is fundamentally about destroying Western Civilization from within
So I'm no longer willing to concede that "Woke" has different meanings and that it's okay to see it as just something of the left...false. When your entire operating principle is the tearing down of Western Civilization, then you deserve to be grouped together despite any differences around the edges
And you don't have to look any further than the word itself. The entire premise of being woke is that you were asleep, but now you've awoken. In other words what you believed was reality actually turned out to be a slumber, and now you see the world for what it is. This is exactly what has happened to radical elements on the left, and more recently the right
And the story is basically the same: we've awoken to the reality of what the world really is and everything we thought we knew was a lie...it's so bad that there's no point trying to fix it so let's just tear it all down and start over
It's just a modern re-imagining of the left-right extremist revolutionary dichotomy which is actually a horseshoe...but at this point I don't care if you believe this because of "systemic injustice" or "shadowy elites"...I just know that you're an enemy of Western Civilization
If the right had become "woke" first then they would have embraced the label just as quickly, but the left beat them to it
You can argue that all I'm doing is engaging in a rhetorical debate, which is fine but misses the point entirely. I'd counter it's imperative people understand that it's the same phenomenon because people engaging in this type of thinking need to look in the mirror and realize that they're doing all the things that they once criticized the other side for
But again, where it matters is that all these people are looking to tear down Western Civilization...and that's a bigger unifying point for wokeness than anything else

If you are a Democrat who is alarmed by the rise of the DSA and psycho Piker Woke 2.0 wing, you should be. You should also be taking action to protect your party and this country from them. To start, though, reflect a bit on what you have supported that has enabled this rise.

QM models that allow disequilibrium enable psychic phenomena. Local disequilibrium requires complimentary disequilibrium elsewhere to produce net relaxation. If the nested FEP markov blankets of biology preserve even modest disequilibrium we'd get correlations within and without.

Parents who raise their kids on realistic content are performing a kind of soul circumcision without anesthesia, and they do it proudly. they buy the little books about sharing and recycling and how divorce is okay, sensible books, vetted books, books approved by some committee of childless phds who decided that dragons are psychologically destabilizing. and then this denuded little creature grows up and wanders out into a world that is absolutely crawling with dragons, real ones, humans who feed on humiliation, women who collect men like scalps, landlords, banks, algorithms, addictions, each one an ancient monster. and the kid has nothing, no stored narrative of the small weak thing prevailing, no memory of stones becoming bread or dead girls waking up. his parents gave him nutritious facts and he stands there starving in front of his first real giant with a stomach full of information. meanwhile some other kid whose grandmother filled him with absolute garbage, nonsense talking wolves, magic beans, boys made of wood, walks up to the same giant and something old activates in him. he knows somewhere deep in the meat of him that giants are a problem with a known solution, that has been handled before, by smaller people than him, with worse weapons
