Simon Heffer, not exactly a pinko liberal leftie, reviews the new Liz Truss book, and it should be framed in every loo in the land.

Clearing his name after he’s no longer here to see it. Rest in peace, Professor Jason Arday. You deserved your flowers while you were still, here. #writing #WritingCommmunity

There was no protective ring around care homes; but there obviously is one around Michelle Mone and Dido Harding

Both on their honeymoon. Both rage tweeting into the void. What happy lives they must lead.
Hey @British_Airways -genuinely shocked by the way you treat passengers. More to follow.

This is a shocking watch. But it needs to be seen. This is what's going on inside Nigel Farage's party.

I agree and have raised a petition tonight, I hope it can get some traction! Protect BBC Radio 4's public service programmes from further cuts We call on the Government to review the impact of BBC funding arrangements on its ability to deliver distinctive public service broadcasting, and to work with the BBC to protect important programmes such as You and Yours, The World Tonight, Thinking Allowed and Free Thinking. BBC Radio 4 plays a vital role in British public life through independent journalism, consumer advocacy and informed debate. Cuts to programmes such as You and Yours and The World Tonight threaten the depth and quality of public service broadcasting. These programmes hold powerful institutions to account, champion consumers and inform citizens. We believe the Government must ensure sustainable BBC funding that protects distinctive, high-quality programming for future generations. petition.parliament.uk/petit…

I think this is more than 20+ people involved as an Epstein victim or key Epstein witness that has died mysteriously or had a "suicide" that no one connected to them thinks was a "suicide" Not a conspiracy guy but in my opinion someone should do a deep dive investigation on all
Former British banker and whistleblower Simon Andriesz, 57, has died by suicide. Andriesz had exposed U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s past links to Jeffrey Epstein, including evidence of a 2018 email exchange about a start-up business. Source: The Banker

In 14 years, Tory justice secretaries couldn’t even add 500 places to the prison estate. Why should anyone believe the Tories are capable of increasing capacity by 50,000 in half that time? This is cloud cuckoo land politics. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ck9q…

Shame this didn't apply to PM Starmer when his home was firebombed by Russian connections. While RW activists spread disgusting sexual lies about the PM The silence was deafening and there was a definite lack of support.
I know the new charges made today will be extremely concerning. My profound sympathies are with Nigel Farage and his family. Let no one make any mistake: an attack on anyone in politics is an attack on us all. This case raises serious questions about the security of those in public life. We must use this as an opportunity to reset. Once parliament returns, I will update on our work to strengthen protections for those who choose to serve.
