Instead of complaining when Muslims in public life are asked to renounce 'Islamism,' we need to offer clear theological reasons for rejecting it.
Many Muslim scholars view civil liberties as a temporary compromise, for theological reasons—and the public knows this.
'With free speech you allow people to tell you who they are...
@BeverleyTurner asks Mustafa Warsi of Pickthall Housen about the reaction to alleged hate speech by Islamic preacher Abu Ahmad in Melbourne just months after the Bondi Beach massacre.
'The families are so large and so intertwined, it results in further isolation from the regular structures of the state.'
Mustafa Warsi makes the case for banning first cousin marriage in the UK.

Blasphemy laws are terrible, and most British Muslims don't want them.

Tonight @JacobW982 discussed the threat of Islamist extremism and the failed policy of policing ideas rather than actions with @PatrickChristys
Head of Domestic Policy at Pickthall House, Jacob Williams, discusses whether Britain has a far bigger problem with Islamist extremism than previously realised, after the true scale of a foiled ISIS-inspired attack on a Jewish community in Manchester is revealed.
Antisemitic hate crimes are a grotesque evil in our society. It is a shame that rather than engage Pickthall House in productive discussion on this important topic, the Israel Solidarity Movement @realcojones preferred to launch baseless attacks on our Director's Muslim identity.
Watch Keith Fraser, Director of the Israel Solidarity Movement, and Fayz Ahmed, Director of Foreign Affairs at Pickthall House, clash over whether antisemitic foreign students should face a clampdown.

You do *not* have to endorse third worldism, nor concede the “equality” of distinct cultures in order to take a principled stance on the freedom of people to organise themselves at will, so long as there’s no coercion or major externality involved.

The defence of a private body's right to organise itself freely is central to liberal democracy. If people feel oppressed, they ought to vote with their feet, and find new mosques.
What makes Britain great is the defence of ideas we don't like in the name of principle.
It is, without question, true that many communities in the UK are in need of reform and better integration, but we need to do this with intelligence, conviction, and with their co-operation.
Reactionarism and demonisation helps nobody.
