Today is the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.
But ending violence cannot happen when we don’t have access to justice.
Stand with sex worker-led organisations & oppose all forms of criminalisation to help end violence against sex workers.

As a former sex worker who now frequently hires people, I would just like to state for the record that the most mediocre stripper you know is overqualified for every conceivable sales, marketing, and customer service position available.

Ninety-six per cent of people surveyed for a recent @LSE_WPS report on the criminalisation of sex buying believe that legislation has made sex workers more unsafe and more vulnerable to exploitation.

Hey sex-working mums this article says that in the 1980s NSW sex workers argued that sex work gave them the income and job flexibility to be better mums.
Now sex work is decriminalised they can also be on the P&C (PTA).

Nadia is echoing what sex workers around the world have been saying for decades. Criminalising clients does not keep sex workers safe, it puts us in more danger - danger of violence from clients, violence from the police, and violence from the state. Thank you Nadia ❤️☂️
No one should be pushed into sex work by poverty. But that’s the reality for many women in a cost of living crisis.
Criminalisation makes the industry more dangerous and harder to leave.
The solution is to fully decriminalise it + tackle the root causes.

The term sex work was coined by Carol Leigh, aka Scarlet Harlot, a former sex worker. In my work at the World Health Organization, I helped to promote that term to emphasize that sex work is a form of labor, appropriate to labor not criminal law.
