It’s been 100 days since Plaid Cymru entered government.
Let’s have a look at what they’ve been up to since then… 👇
Rough. Plaid languishing in fourth despite winning Pen-y-Bont Bro Morgannwg in May. The same source puts them fourth in Bridgend, too.
They’re performing poorly across the board. Perhaps the Senedd’s voting system gave them a leg-up after all… as Drakeford himself admitted.

No surprise Plaid are looking for more money from Westminster, they have learned the default reflex from their Welsh Labour colleagues.

SHAME ON YOU PLAID CYMRU
While you squander Welsh Taxpayer money on vanity projects and your ideology people are literally dyeing in hospital corridors and ambulances waiting for critical medical attention!
SHAME ON YOU 🫵
This is the second story in the last day or so of an elderly person having to lie on the floor for hours while awaiting an ambulance.
This is the Senedd’s Wales.

... Sadly not the colours of Wales 🏴

Wales does not need a new Human Rights Act. We do not need yet another layer of statutory duties.
We have spent far too long on legislation like this which serves only to make the operation of government more sclerotic and allows a handful of politicians to grandstand.
A proposed Welsh Human Rights Act could give people stronger powers to challenge failures in public services. But ministers must first work out how to deliver that promise within the Senedd’s law-making powers wp.me/p8Mk4U-1ulz

An 87 year-old dementia sufferer was left lying on the floor in agony for six and a half hours after breaking his hip, leading to a backlash against the Senedd's Plaid Cymru administration.
The man's son told Rhun ap Iorwerth to "stop show boating about independence and do your job", as he explained it took 14 hours for him to receive a hospital bed.

🚨PLAID CYMRU COSIES UP TO CUBA’S COMMUNIST REGIME🚨
Plaid Cymru Senedd members Luke Fletcher and Peredur Owen Griffiths welcomed Cuban ambassador Ismara Mercedes Vargas Walter to the Senedd.
They wanted to discuss the “unjust designation of Cuba on the U.S. State Sponsors of Terrorism List.”
Cuba was placed back on the list in 2021 after the US government determined that the Cuban regime had repeatedly supported international terrorism by providing safe haven to terrorists.
This is extreme.

They love recycling this fake urban myth every year.
For maximum effect it’s usually a Muslim woman in a niqab who yn siarad Cymraeg, abused by a stupid white racist thug.
Shocked we haven’t seen this sketch play out in a BBC drama yet.

This photograph deserves rather more scrutiny now Plaid Cymru is running Wales.
When I worked in national security at the Foreign Office, Cuba was a country of security significance. Russian and Chinese influence and intelligence interests were matters to be taken seriously, not romanticised through the lens of socialist “solidarity”.
Plaid apparently thought differently.
Its politicians campaigned in solidarity with Cuba, called for closer Welsh Government links, organised events with Cuban ambassadors and challenged Cuba’s designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism.
Then, on 14 May 2025, Plaid welcomed the Cuban Ambassador into the Senedd.
And where are some of those people now?
Heledd Fychan, who co-organised Plaid’s Cuba solidarity event, is a Cabinet Minister.
Luke Fletcher, one of Plaid’s most prominent advocates of closer links with Cuba, is now a Welsh Government special adviser.
Others associated with pro-Cuba campaigning now sit around the Cabinet table.
Diplomatic engagement is normal. Political naivety about states of security significance is not.
Plaid’s Cuba obsession looked questionable in opposition.
Now they’re running the Welsh Government, it deserves serious scrutiny.
A resurfaced photograph from a Senedd insider shows Plaid Cymru invited the Cuban Ambassador to the Senedd… to discuss the ‘unjust designation of Cuba on the U.S. State Sponsors of Terrorism List.’
They really are extremists.

Labour’s defeat better understood as Plaid seen as most viable bulwark against Reform.
While Labour government in Westminster nullified ability to pass failures as consequences of Conservatives fundings being inadequate. This with added factors of Starmer being loathed and several years of blood letting in Cardiff Bay meant party was on hiding to nothing.
An academic clearly sympathetic to Welsh Nationalism would naturally prescribe additional powers as road to recovery - but was devolution in itself not meant to abate the separatists?
"...a party that often gives the impression it created a parliament for Wales by mistake."
Welsh Lab currently can't answer most basic questions on national devo.
Good case from @LauraMcAllister for backing WG's push for parity w/ Scotland (as John Smith planned back in '94).

The comments were condemned by a man who said he was from the village where the tragedy occurred, and were described as "awful" and "disgraceful" by others.

Plaid Cymru lectures Wales about equality. Its record on women tells a rather different story.
2023: its own review exposed a toxic culture of misogyny, harassment and bullying.
2024: unlawful discrimination against women’s rights charity FiLiA.
2026: Safa Elhassan quits the Women’s and Girls’ Rights Cross-Party Group, the first of its kind in the Senedd (involving organisations including @WRNWales and @MerchedCymru) with local media reporting allegations that male Plaid staffers bullied her into withdrawing.
Three years. Same disturbing theme: misogyny, discrimination and alleged bullying when women’s sex-based rights become politically inconvenient.
Plaid is now the party of government. The sex-based rights of half its electorate are neither optional nor negotiable.
And my scrutiny won’t be optional, either.
