I want to speak on what Patrick Stewart has meant to me in my life. I’ll need to tell a story to do that. Thanks for reading this if you choose to. I was one of the only people in my middle school to get “All A’s, all four quarters” in 7th grade, and when I walked on stage at an assembly to collect a certificate for that, someone threw a water balloon at me which soiled the certificate and knocked my glasses off my face and broke the left lens. A hundred kids laughed at me that day. My sister was already in high school so I walked home alone with my broken glasses in my lunch bag. Everything was blurry. My mom helped me tape the lens, but I was better off not wearing them at all until we could go to the mall to get them fixed. I ended up sitting directly in front of our 13 inch TV/VCR combo in the TV room watching the late afternoon’s rerun episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation like I always did, but just so much closer that day. I sat there, my face wet - and worrying about how much fixing my glasses would cost. I remember trying to count the little boxes of color just to focus on something again. We look for things. Make us strong?! I thought you wanted me to help you go. Make us strong. Look I need to snap out of it now, so I’ll change the subject a little. My best friends back then were Data and Geordi. I had a huge crush on Counselor Troi. And an even bigger crush on Ensign Robin Lefler. 😂🤷‍♂️ My dad didn’t know if he liked Captain Picard - he worried about me - and he worried I watched too much Star Trek for a kid my age. But I know… that he knew… that it helped me escape. And he was starting to appreciate that I was getting all A’s in everything and being made fun of and bullied for it. I have sat here and taken my current glasses off and cried now, thinking about all the episodes I watched over and over again back then. It wasn’t just on once a week for the new episodes. It was on every day after school for hours. I needed my glasses to be able to see so I could get straight A’s so I could watch as much Star Trek as I wanted to after school. My glasses would break and get damaged a lot. They got taped up and fixed. Sir Patrick… I’ll always love you, man, and love what you did and do for me. You brought a character to life that helped me learn how to weather all the storms. I haven’t seen anyone else recall yet how we once had a Captain Picard Day. Or how there are four lights! You will NEVER be able to do anything to me to make it some other number. There are four lights. Rest in peace Captain. ✌️😭

This is a very special indie game that has risen in my eyes right to the top of the “Survivors genre” pile. Genuinely feel that gamers should give it a look when they get a chance. I know it’s a busy year but this game is awesome!! ❤️

I think I am hitting another sad wave of Destiny grief. I dragged my feet with Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 and am finding that so hard to go back to “for fun” after the campaign. And I’m in act 4 in E-Day now, very casually, wishing I could use a D2 sword lol? 😆 Great game though.
