明日(10/22)，#CSJ化学フェスタ 2026企画「生命のダイナミクスを工学へ～動的バイオミメティクス材料の最前線～」で「生体分子のダイナミクスに学ぶ動的ゲル材料の設計と応用」(15:25–16:00)を講演します。生体分子の動的な構造と機能に着想を得たゲル研究を紹介します。興味があればお越しください！
Many thanks to my longtime friend Pat for his hospitality at UW and the chance to give a seminar. Over two days, we enjoyed sharing many memories of Allan. I was moved to see his office still there and to visit Prof. A. S. Hoffman’s grave with Pat—a true father of biomaterials.
Thanks to Prof. Nagatomi for his hospitality. Kyoko & Toshiyuki picked me up in Atlanta, and we enjoyed dinner at the Nagatomi home. I also reunited with Prof. J.S.Lee, whom I met at a WBC banquet table and through Godzilla talks with her son—amazingly, her son still has my card!
Thanks to Michael & @DickeyGroupNCSU for the hospitality and fun seminar. I enjoyed 2 days of research talks with Michael, colleagues & students. We met only a few years ago, yet felt like old friends. My first NC State visit was when Benny was there; Raleigh is now a favorite!
Many thanks to Todd @Emrickgroup for his wonderful hospitality at @UMassPSE. I enjoyed the beautiful campus, stimulating discussions, and a great BBQ at his home. I received valuable advice after my seminar. A memorable photo with the “Big Three” made the visit even more special!
Gobet and I have been close friends since our Stanford days. I stayed at his home for a week like family and enjoyed time with Gobet and Carolyn. Thanks also for the chance to speak at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Meeting. Both UTK and Oak Ridge Lab made this visit special!
Benny and I first met nearly 30 years ago, when we were both much younger! I am deeply grateful for his friendship ever since. It was wonderful to look back on those years, talk science, and enjoy time together again at UT Austin.
Many thanks to Stuart @StuartJRowan at UChicago. Despite recently becoming Dean and a very busy schedule, he made time for me. I enjoyed the seminar discussion and talking about the Rowan group’s latest ideas and research. A stimulating visit, and I learned a great deal.

8月の米国滞在後も日台ポリマーシンポ，科研費申請，新技術説明会，東京出張，岡山大集中講義，学会理事会と慌ただしい日々。9/17, 18の岡山大集中講義では基礎の重要性を伝えた。米国滞在中に提出した著書原稿の修正依頼が届く。内容を充実させたら分量超過で大幅削除依頼(涙)。連休中に修正予定。

明日から第75回高分子討論会(spsj.or.jp/tohron/index.html)。私達のグループから口頭3件，ポスター1件を発表。蛍光ゲル，タフゲルの応用，二重刺激応答コアセルベーション，金ナノ粒子細胞取り込みなど，現在進行形の研究を紹介。ぜひお立ち寄りください。会場での議論を楽しみにしています！
8/2-29の約1か月米国滞在。UChicago，UT Austin，UT Knoxville，UMass Amherst，NC State，Clemson，UWの7大学を訪問。セミナーや討論，食事を通じて密な交流を楽しみました。でも少し疲れた。各訪問は改めてつぶやく。まずは明日からの高分子討論会，日台ポリマーシンポ，岡山大集中講義の準備に専念!
6/25, 26は日本接着学会年次大会(adhesion.or.jp/event/event_1…)に参加。研究室からM1の2名，河村研究室からM1の1名がポスター発表。河村先生と私も口頭発表。塩見綾那さんが優秀ポスター賞を受賞。審査員と運営委員に感謝。大会参加者数は毎年増え続けており，会場での活発な議論も印象的。この分野は熱い!

という演題でオンラインセミナーを行います。

6/1, 2は日本膜学会年会(maku-jp.org/)参加。膜学会は人工膜,生体膜,境界膜の幅広い研究者が集う。M2の2名がポスター発表。鮎澤佑貴さんと小泉奈津海さん2人とも学生賞受賞。審査員と運営委員に深謝。台風6号に向かう新幹線で帰阪。Jun 2,2023の新幹線泊の悪夢が蘇りそうでしたが，無事帰宅
