Everyone needs to know what actually happened in Serbia. Instead of students just protest against their government, the students organized themselves into a student list and ran in elections against their government—and they have just won. Dear Serbia, congratulations on your victory; you have just opened a new door in protesting. This is history

¡Histórico! En Francia, parte de la policía decidió dejar de reprimir y marchar con el pueblo. Game Over, Macron.

As Netanyahu starts the process of turning the West Bank into a second Gaza our government has to act. The message needs to go out that this extension of the genocide will not be tolerated. Full sanctions and political isolation of Israel must be lead by the UK. theguardian.com/world/2026/o…

Bell is getting extreme levels of abuse this morning, simply for raising concern about this event, and flagging that no lessons have been learned about the treatment of Professor Jason Arday. Solidarity to Bell, solidarity to Jason’s family, and solidarity to every Black academic and student forced to endure this culture of racism - both online and in our institutions.
Barely two months ago, we lost Professor Jason Arday. Thousands grieved. Institutions across higher education spoke about inclusion and belonging. Now Nathan Cofnas is being given a room at Oriel College, Oxford, to ask whether DEI is undermining higher education. 🧵

It is immoral that Nathan Cofnas is doing this & that @OrielOxford is hosting, just 2 months after Jason Arday’s suicide. We know @UniofOxford will do anything to try to best Cambridge, where Prof Arday worked, but this is sick. Please join the @OxfordSUTR protest NOV 17th.

Amazing and very moving -a career dedicated to saving lives We need more health workers and zero war mongers in the UK
World-leading cardiac surgeon Asif Hasan was surrounded by the children who received the gift of life thanks to his unerring skills at the emotional climax of another memorable Pride of Britain ceremony. 🥹 Now 70 years old, Mr Hasan has just retired after 35 years of service at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, but just after receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award, he had an extra special surprise: a cast of patients who would not be alive without him. ❤️

Really distressing to view this as survivors and a campaign. We're fed up of the weaponisation of our pain in the name of "protecting women". If this is how they act on the streets, it horrifies us to think how they are behind closed doors.
I was there last night when 20 masked fascists tried to attack a socialist meeting in Glasgow. These aren’t concerned citizens. They’re thugs trying to silence political opposition through violence and intimidation. Unity on the left is essential to defeat the far right.
