The 5-minute breathing protocol that beat meditation: - Double inhale through the nose, then a long passive exhale to lungs empty - The second inhale snaps collapsed alveoli open so you offload more carbon dioxide - 5 minutes a day, the minimal effective dose, in over 100 subjects - Tested against sitting meditation, box breathing and cyclic hyperventilation - Cyclic sighing won on mood around the clock, not just during the practice - It also lowered resting heart rate and improved sleep on 24-hour tracking @DrGottfried on @hubermanlab

Wow.
🇲🇽 A MEXICAN TEENAGER BUILT A FIRE EXTINGUISHER THAT USES SOUND INSTEAD OF WATER OR CHEMICALS A student created “Vortex Tech,” a portable prototype that uses low-frequency sound waves around 30 Hz to disrupt the air feeding small flames. In tests, it put out small fires in roughly 5 to 8 seconds. She built it with her adviser and uncle after getting inspired by a sonic-cannon concept. It’s still an experimental prototype for small fires, but a teenager from Mexico turned bass into a fire extinguisher 😮 Writer: Sol

Great advice honestly.
Dopamine from a new partner lasts about 18 months. After that, your brain files the one you love under familiar and the spark stops firing. Italians found a way to trigger it all over again without changing partners. It has worked for 300 years: 👇 🧵

Dr K on the counterintuitive fix for feeling overwhelmed by life. @HealthyGamerGG

I think I just want someone to be proud of me. I know that that is a feeling that I do have to mourn not receiving because I should have. I'm careful with using 'shoulds', but a parent is supposed to provide certain things, and we're supposed to learn certain things in our childhood that if we don't, we transition into adulthood without the right equipment. Our parents are supposed to provide certain things like love and being proud of you, so you learn how do develop those feelings and skills on your own and have a solid healthy base for your identity. Of course, life is unfair, and nobody's perfect so many of us get to adulthood without receiving the proper nurturing that would have led to a healthier start to being an adult. We still have to mourn some things that we didn't get, and maybe we should have. I feel like I need to mourn not having someone to be proud of me. Because I think about it, and when we were all children and we're learning things, and we finally learn to be pottytrained for instance, we get this moment of "Yay! You did it! You can rest now." Like if I were to describe that feeling of someone being proud of me, it would feel like a sort of relief like I can rest now. And that got me thinking, because obviously a child who is learning how to be a human will receive the pride from their parent in achieving something such as learning to use the toilet and the child would have that sense of relief, but that would not mean that they would stop learning and growing in general. I think people are afraid to be proud of others in their lives because by giving them the signal that they can rest, they fear that that means they would stop progressing. But a child doesn't stop progressing and maturing because their parent was proud of them. Quite the contrary. They actually have the healthy fuel to motivate them to continue learning and growing, and if you think about it, a child loves learning and growing. Ultimately, they want to grow. They thirst for it. I think that some people get to adulthood, and they no longer have that thirst. Because I guess at some point they thought "I did it. I know how to be human." And I think it really trips them up. I think it also causes them to be weary of being proud of others because they have this notion that when they were proud of themselves or people were proud of them or they felt accomplished, and they felt like "Yay, I did it", they stopped having the drive. TLDR: It's okay to mourn things you didn't get that would have been healthy for you to receive in childhood. If you stop thirsting for knowledge and growth in any way, be aware that your ego has likely gotten involved and is steering you wrong. Be proud of the small accomplishments that those you care about achieve and don't be afraid of letting them know you are proud of them if you want them to continue their growth. That is one of the best nutrients you can give them

The brain likes to predict what happens next. A bad situation you know can feel safer than a good one you don’t. Worth noticing the next time you hesitate to change something.

Big win! Starting tomorrow, Virginia Medicaid will stop paying for child sex-rejecting procedures. No more puberty blockers, opposite-sex hormones, or surgeries for Medicaid members under 18 and CHIP members under 19. Kids already on hormones get up to six months to taper off. Mental health care stays covered. billboardchris.com/news/2026…

Don't interpret everything or you will find yourself in a delusion of your own making.

I have just completed what I believe to be the most comprehensive evaluation of Charlotte NC arrest records in history. This project has taken me 3 months to complete, combing through over 50,000+ arrest records and mugshots. I've found what appears to be massive fraud. Thousands of Hispanics have been labelled as "WHITE CAUCASIAN" in the arrest records... THOUSANDS. In fact, I found over 500 cases where Hispanics who were arrested more than once... had their "Ethnicity" CHANGED from "Hispanic" to "Caucasian" from one arrest to another. Horrifyingly, I found HUNDREDS of these "White Caucasians" were actually ILLEGAL ALIENS from foreign countries with ICE detainers. Perhaps most disturbing... Many of the illegal aliens who were labelled as "WHITE CAUCASIAN" had already been released back into the public, DESPITE the ICE detainer requesting they stay in prison. We have a serious problem.

This poster needs to take it one step further to its natural conclusion. It isn't a coincidence that coincidence is being removed from our lives. It's by design. In a world without coincidence, you have control. By controlling the context of the world (the goal of AI), by having perfect context, you can manufacture outcomes by nudging people in certain directions to fulfill certain tasks. You can introduce stimulus into their lives like seeds in soil that will sprout into your desired action, sometimes years, decades from now. The prediction powers of the currently-being-built digital God are so advanced that in time you will be able to have a single prompt shown to a child at 8 that will manifest into an action at 45. There will be precognition, predicting dissenters/crimes before they happen (yes just like minority report), everything will be controlled. Whimsy and coincidence will be gone because they are unpredictable, they are the glitch, the flaw in the Matrix. In a world with perfect context, the contextualizers can harness human energy to whatever goal they determine to be their cause at the time. TLDR: It is no coincidence that coincidence is being removed from our life. For AI to reach its maximum power it needs to remove all unpredictable elements from society. It requires perfect context, then it has the perfect powers of God.
We are slowly removing coincidence out of our lives. We don't pick a restaurant before even checking the ratings. We don't hear music before the algorithm ever predicts we'll like it. We don't even take a route before maps removes the wrong turn. Barely meet someone even before checking their profile. And none of that is necessarily bad. But that's what makes it interesting because every tool nowadays removes every tiny bit of uncertainty, but uncertainty is where a lot of your favorite memories came from. The place you found by accident, the friend you met because the plans changed. The street you weren't supposed to be on that ended up having the best restaurant you've ever been to. We've optimized our life so well to the point where nothing unexpected ever has room to even happen and a life with no accidents is easier to manage, but it's just harder to remember.
