At least 61,059 Form-7 applications seeking the deletion of names from Karnataka’s electoral rolls were filed by election officials themselves, with not a single application mentioning a reason for the deletion, a mandatory requirement under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.

Will capping trade margins on 137 #cancer drugs actually lower #medical bills? My recent story in @timesofindia examines the risk that #hospitals could offset lower #drug margins with higher charges for diagnostics, consumables or procedures. Lower drug prices don’t automatically mean cheaper cancer care. The move requires strict monitoring & implementation across all stakeholders.

But who are the worthies on this "working group"? Not a single name in this report.
The Working Group on Access to Medicines and Treatments has raised concerns over including Dr. Naresh Trehan, chairman and managing director of Medanta, in a committee constituted on the Supreme Court’s directions to examine the regulatory framework governing pharmaceutical marketing practices.

Except Article 131 requires all centre-state disputes to be heard by the Supreme Court. This provision dates back to the GoI Act, 1935. The cause title in this case is State of Maharashtra v. Union of India, and the dispute pertains to a union law.
All central laws are subject to Writ Jurisdiction of High Court and the Supreme Court. Merely because it's a Central Government enactment does not make it a Centre State dispute giving exclusive jurisdiction to the Supreme court.
Any High Court can strike down any law as unconstitutional and it will be considered struck down throughout the country, as held by Supreme Court in Kusum Ingots & Alloys Ltd. v. Union of India [(2004) 6 SCC 254.
Section 377 of IPC was first struck down by Delhi High Court. Section 309 IPC was struck by Bombay High Court.
Vide the 42nd Amendment, Article 226A was inserted in Constitution of India which ousted the Writ Jurisdiction of High Court over central Government Legislations, however, it was deleted by the 43rd Amendment.
Before the next elections, INC should announce that it will appoint Justice Muralidhar to head a Commission of Inquiry into judicial appointments and transfers during the Modi years.
This is a false and irresponsible statement: "India has repeatedly been described as having a huge counterfeit drug problem, with estimates sometimes showing extraordinarily high levels." frontline.thehindu.com/news/…
The govt. needs to start publishing these S. 163 orders in the Delhi Police Gazette or better still in newspapers.
I’m almost certain @DelhiPolice is walking around with this poster in their pocket and “imposing” s.163 BNSS anywhere protestors begin to gather. And then they use it to detain us brutally.
At Bangla Sahib today, not a single policeman could show us the 163 order when asked.
How about some context on CTI, its membership and history? Do your job PTI, stop just reproducing press releases.
STORY | CTI urges Rahul Gandhi to defer Nov 1 INDIA bloc rally, warns of Rs 10,000 crore trade loss
The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) has urged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to postpone the INDIA bloc's November 1 rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan until after November 10, warning that it could disrupt business worth Rs 10,000 crore during the peak Diwali shopping season.

First they create fear, detain protestors, smash bones, throw leaders in jail, book some under UAPA, install CCTVs, monitor social media, victimize dissenters, harass cartoonists, call the bulldozers - then they ask, "if so many voters are excluded, why are they not protesting"?
Incredible India! This is the state of dsyfunction in Indian governance. barandbench.com/news/litigat…

Look at the chaos unleashed. Crazy stuff.
RBI’s new forex reporting regime kicked in on Oct 1. On Oct 7, the RBI Governor said individuals earning from overseas services (tutors, freelancers, consultants etc) don’t need to report.
23 days later. No FAQ. No written clarification. Banks still sending freelancers a four-spreadsheet Export Declaration Form. Only 2 of 90 banks have published the mandated SOPs via @SindhuHarih in @businessline

Good question. Also did anybody from the Bar or civil society make this specific demand during consultations?
In the British Raj, the executive, such as the Special Executive Magistrate, enjoyed judicial powers. Modi-Mota claimed that they were decolonizing criminal law (we know they were just rearranging sections to fool their idiot Bhakts)! Then why is it that they did not bring an end to babus sending people to jail under the Bhanasur Samhita?
