I started to ask ChatGPT about my blind spots. And then I remembered I have actual friends I can trust to be honest with me.

Aerosolized budesonide and clarithromycin don’t treat measles (it’s a virus- it doesn’t respond to antibiotics).
For the head of HHS to be messaging this in the middle of an outbreak that has killed two children is… despicable.

The retro anything was best when you had no real responsibility, all disposable income, and people who were still gifting you things.
Nostalgia for retro video games seems to be strongest for those played during childhood – in particular, for the games console that was popular when players were 10 years old. newscientist.com/article/247…

It’s hard for many people to see the importance of what CDC does because when it succeeds, there isn’t an outbreak. Your neighbor doesn’t overdose. Your cousin stops smoking or your child doesn’t start. Your grandmother doesn’t develop cancer.
Cuts to this work would put us all at greater risk.

Funny how kids use to go to school in 100⁰ with no air conditioning and performed way way better than today. Of course, this was before the DOE.

Really doesn’t take a detective to uncover that Republicans are enacting Project 2025 – just last night they began the process of dismantling the Department of Education.
Everything points to them trying to misuse the Comstock Act to ban abortion nationwide, even in states where it’s legal.

Putting aside the broader political context, this is such a boneheaded strategic blunder by @Harvard. If you are sitting on a pile of cash at a time when your entire industry is facing a downturn - that is the time to POUNCE NOT RETRENCH. Harvard could be out there hiring the best faculty and staff candidates that their competitors can no longer afford and cement their advantage for decades to come. But I guess it shouldn't surprise me that they're taking the strategically timid path, since it's exactly what I've seen so many of their business school trainees impose on tech and biotech companies in the Bay Area.
Harvard President Alan M. Garber ’76 announced a University-wide staff and faculty hiring freeze in a message to Harvard affiliates Monday morning, citing uncertainty under the Trump administration.
