OSINT analysts who have been bashing @ElonMusk for days over this don't get it. Russia has the capacity to blow up satellites in space. They proved this on November 15, 2021, by firing a PL-19 Nudol missile at an old satellite of their own. The impact created a large debris cloud—more than 1,500 trackable fragments plus hundreds of thousands of smaller pieces. The International Space Station was forced to implement safe-haven procedures: the seven-person crew (including Russian cosmonauts) sealed hatches and sheltered in the docked Soyuz and Crew Dragon spacecraft for several hours as the debris cloud repeatedly crossed their orbital path. The ISS even had to perform thruster burns on multiple occasions over the following months to avoid the debris cloud orbiting the Earth. If Russia decides that the civilian Starlink satellite network is weaponized and fair game, we risk a serious Kessler syndrome. First modeled by NASA’s Donald Kessler and Burton Cour-Palais in 1978, it describes a scenario in which the density of objects in low Earth orbit gets so high that collisions start producing debris faster than natural processes (mainly atmospheric drag) can remove. Each collision creates more fragments, which raise the odds of further collisions, leading to a self-sustaining cascade, a runaway cloud of satellite debris that can make certain orbital bands increasingly hazardous. Space could become unusable for years to centuries. You like driving around with GPS? Starlink MUST remain a civilian entity.

This is indeed one of the main reasons that Starlink must remain a civilian operation. It can be used for infrastructure that is military, but it cannot be used for unequivocally offensive strikes that make it fair game to be struck back. An adversary blowing up Starlink satellites would create a domino effect of destruction that would generate a vast field of debris making space unusable.

"Not to my knowledge." Rep. Ilhan Omar gives that response when asked directly whether she is related to her former husband during an MS NOW interview addressing long-standing allegations that she married her brother. Omar says the claims originated from a Somali blog, while FOX News' @kevincorke questions her choice of words, asking why she didn't give a more definitive denial. Omar had not been seen publicly since the reported raid on her Washington, D.C., home before appearing for the interview. These jealous losers are, unsurprisingly, the same group that hates America. What they really hate are their miserable lives, and they blame America for the problems THEY created for themselves.

🇮🇱 IMAGINE THE SHOCK OF IDF SOLDIERS ENTERING HEZBOLLAH’S UNDERGROUND FORTRESS! After years of intelligence gathering and preparation, Israeli soldiers finally entered the enormous underground complex beneath Ali al-Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon. What they encountered was extraordinary. A hidden military world carved into the mountain. Command centers. Weapons stores packed with rockets, missiles, drones and anti-tank weapons. Living quarters, kitchens, showers, generators and extensive underground passages. Hezbollah had spent years building this fortified complex with Iranian support. Imagine the realization: this was not just a tunnel. It was an entire underground military installation, designed to help Hezbollah wage war against Israel. Israeli soldiers worked to secure the complex, clear its underground routes and enable the destruction of this massive terror infrastructure. Years of construction. Enormous resources. A fortress hidden beneath a mountain. And the IDF got inside. 🇮🇱 The intelligence. The courage. The determination. This is what Israel’s soldiers accomplished. AM YISRAEL CHAI! 🇮🇱

Trump is 100% right. Super Intelligence is the right term. Think of it this way: Ants. Biologists call an ant colony a superorganism because the colony as a whole behaves like one organism that's smarter than any ant in it. Super Intelligence works the same way. Now most people use the word the way I.J. Good and Nick Bostrom did: one machine that outthinks all of us. But Vernor Vinge described another route back in 1993. Humans and computers networked so tightly that the whole system becomes superhumanly intelligent. Vinge's take is the one that's correct. The innovative intelligence comes from AI WORKING WITH humans. The two are inextricably linked. Ed Hutchins made the same point in Cognition in the Wild, watching a Navy crew navigate a ship. The navigation happened across the crew, their charts, and their instruments all at once. Nobody on the bridge was doing it alone. And that's the way to look at Super Intelligence. It's not due to AI alone. The super intelligence is due to the interaction, the connection, between humans and AIs. BLUF: Human-AI symbiosis producing a combined system that become superhumanly intelligent. Super intelligence.

That almost the entire media repeated the same lie with the exact same words is disturbing. The legacy news is not merely fake, but also unoriginally fake! If you want to know the truth, it’s on 𝕏.

We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. Since I do a lot of Local AI now that "Agentic AI" actually makes AI useful for big data processing, I thought I'd upgrade from an Nvidia 4090 to a 5090. I remember it being under $2500 a couple of months ago… FAIL. $5000+, no thanks What about the latest AMD AI Pro card? A couple of months ago I remember it was under $1500… FAIL. ~$2000, no thanks. Now I'm against data centers until Big Tech subsidizes the consumer graphics card industry :-)

China was sitting on Venezuela's oil, keeping prices high. So President Trump just took majority control of 65 billion barrels. And that means gas prices will tumble to under $3 for the midterms!

Okay another sort-of original post: What's my take on using AI at work? Work differs from school because your goal is not (usually) to learn, but to get sh!t done, according to the requirements (quality, speed, budget, etc.) at a specific deadline. You use every tool at your disposal to get your work done. AI is a tool. Use it. Except… (and I'm thinking coding and writing and art) With most creative work you still have to maintain what you ship: answer questions, fix problems, add features. Problem is, once AI does the first version, you end up relying on AI for the maintenance too. And AI is mediocre at maintenance and enhancements. Don't believe me? Try it yourself. Ask AI to write the classic game Asteroids. Easy. Then tell it to change the ship and asteroids into different shapes. Harder. Then make it a 3D version. Sort of works, but not the way you actually wanted. Then ask for a 3D networked multiplayer version. Nope. Suddenly you're in a long trial-and-error loop, spending more time fighting the AI than building the game. Each new iteration of your work becomes a Rube Goldberg hack stacked on the previous hack. You never really understand the thing. You're just the person stuck keeping the brittle stack from collapsing. I'm not arguing against using AI. It's more about treating the first AI pass as a fast prototype, then forcing yourself to learn the critical parts so the next versions come from you. Bottom line, use AI, but spend the time to understand the critical parts. Maybe that's obvious, but you'd be surprised by how many people end up stuck with a mess, that only kind of works, because they never took the time to understand the critical parts.

I hate these lazy people using AI to create posts. "AI isn't <pee>, it's <poo>". "AI can't manufacture ambition where none exists" No normal person talks that way. Without even looking, I can tell this person is a foreigner. AI gives the illusion of productivity. You pay for it down the road when you can't fix what you produce, when it breaks.
AI isn’t making lazy people productive. It’s making already productive people terrifyingly efficient while everyone else falls even further behind. AI can’t manufacture ambition where none exists. The top 10% benefit more than anyone else with AI. Do you agree or disagree?

Calling them Bolsheviks is a solid allegory because it actually mirrors what's happening today with woke and social-demoncratic forces winning key races and calling for the destruction of the current political system. Quick Summary: 1-The Bolsheviks originated as a wing of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party. At a 1903 party congress, Vladimir Lenin's group won a majority on a key vote and adopted the name "Bolsheviks" (majority). 2-Under Lenin, the Bolsheviks advocated for a tightly disciplined, professional revolutionary party that would lead the working class (proletariat) in overthrowing the existing order and creating a worker-controlled government under total party rule. 3-In November 1917 they overthrew the Provisional Government that had replaced the Tsar earlier that year. This event was known as the Bolshevik Revolution. 4-After winning the subsequent Russian Civil War (1917–1922), the Bolsheviks consolidated power, renamed themselves the Communist Party and created the Soviet Union in 1922. Their ideology evolved into Marxism-Leninism, emphasized one-party rule, state control of the economy, and the suppression of political opposition. Same pattern is happening now. Don't let this happen in the U.S. You can't sit out the midterms. All this "last straw for me" talk ("invading Iran was the last straw for me", "not deporting all illegal aliens was the last for me", "not prosecuting J6 committee/Fauci was the last straw for me", etc) is you being a helpful idiot for demonic forces.
