I am a Melburnian. I love this city. And yet for all its cultural attributes, the barbecue-stopper across Victoria today is the deleterious state of our roads, writes Bernard Salt. Read the full column: bit.ly/4BFkYdI

We finally have an explanation for “Facebook is listening to me through my phone”. They’d never do that (and it’s not really possible).
Turns out literally everyone else was — and then selling that to ad data brokers.
WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners.
Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads.
Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was.
Got a root shell.
then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems.
This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.

There is apparently a direct correlation between political satire and political violence.
But only when it is not the ABC.
Right?

So it turns out that the samsung tv was using its microphone to listen to everything.
to hide their traffic they went ahead and classified what it was hearing then sent it… somewhere
live-tweeting on samsung findings were fun.
i'll let my agents give it a bit more time, but this document is already the most comprehensive breakdown of some key concerns of tizen i've seen run on a live device.
it takes like a good while for me just to scroll through it (there's about 44 writeups as of right now on individual functionality).
release is probably happening in a few days.

Whatever happens with the current riots, the @EmmanuelMacron government is in free fall, says former Supreme Court justice @noellelenoir. "We have no government," she says. "Macron is disconnected, afraid, & doesn't know what to do.... Without X, we would not have a democracy."

If only we’d built nuclear plants instead of Snowy Hydro 2.
Even in the worst case scenario where Bowen compares it to Hinkley C Nuclear Plant that will be an about a 3x cost increase, a lot better than a 12x blowout for a battery.
Hinkley C will produce 7% of the UK’s electricity from just 2 reactors for over 60 years.
At more realistic CSIRO prices you could have built 5 large nuclear reactors for the up to $50bn price tag of Snowy Hydro 2 (including transmission lines).
It’s worth reminding ourselves that the one reactor Australia did build recently, the OPAL research reactor, was basically on time and on budget.

Rioters set fire to a building in France. A neighbour begs them: "Please, there are kids in that building!"
Their answer: "We don't give a fuck! We're young, we want our rights!"

This made the cut for ABC 'news'. I kid you not.
A billion dollars very well spent.

What is everyone’s wealth strategy now?
I’m heavy cash waiting to buy a cracker of a house in a falling market.
One of the only places left that these socialists can’t take a slice of.
For now…

Aaron Siri uncovered a bombshell internal document proving the CDC knew exactly what injuries the Covid shots would cause all the way back in November 2020.
“Myocarditis.”
“Pericarditis.”
“Seizures.”
“Tinnitus.”
Bookmark this.
“All the things we ended up seeing were on that list.”
Then, they covered up those findings in their design documents for V-Safe, the safety survey that was sent to 10 million Covid shot recipients.
“They could have put things like myocarditis on it, or at least chest pain.”
“Did they do that?”
“No.”
“None of those conditions nor their symptoms ended up on that list.”
“When the CDC was publishing all their studies saying Covid-19 vaccines were safe, the first 40 studies… they didn’t publish beyond the first week of the seeking medical care data.”
“They only published the first week.”
But it’s “well-known” that many adverse events from vaccines occur “after the first week of getting the shot.”
“If you’re going to have a seizure from an MMR vaccine, it’s not going to happen in the first week.”
“Yet they only reported the first week of medical-seeking behavior.”
After “two lawsuits” and “almost two years,” Siri finally obtained “all of that check-the-box data.”
“7.7% reported seeking medical care.”
“On average, two to three times each.”
“Over 70% of them reported seeking urgent care.”
“Emergency room.”
“Hospitalization.”

Diagnostic : 2 Go de RAM, 47 Mo libres.
➡️ Processeur au repos : 61 % -> 12 %
➡️ RAM libre : 451 -> 720 Mo
➡️ Écran d'accueil : 187 Mo -> 25 Mo de RAM
➡️ Pubs au démarrage et dans les menus : 0
Un problème de plusieurs années réglé en 30min avec Claude Code, voila ou on en est 😅

The Laffer Curve strikes again. Rachel Reeves’s absurd increases to stamp duty have backfired after tax receipts from property sales above £5m fell by £541m in the 18 months following her 2024 budget when she raised the second-home stamp duty surcharge to 5%.
Data from estate agents Knight Frank show that in the 18 months subsequent to the budget, the number of sales above £5m dropped by 14% from 2,569 to 2,208, when compared with the 18 months before the budget. Of course it is not just the stamp duty that is lost but also the economic activity that accompanies the property transactions.
Reeves has just signed up to the Chartwell Speakers agency to sell speeches for money. Surely for anyone to buy a speech from her is a badge of idiocy?

The SMH headline is impressive the reality not so much .
Moderna and Merck’s sleight of hand operates yet again.
Touting a 42% reduction in melanoma relapse after 2 years with their new mRNA vaccine.
But using relative risk just like they did with the Covid shot.
The absolute risk is only a 12 point gap.
- 70% relapse free on Keytruda alone;
- 82% with the vaccine added.
Roughly 1 in 8 patients saw a benefit.
Still no overall survival data.
And of course we already know the risks associated with the MRNA platform.

just debloated my family's slow 7 years old android tv and deleted 36 deep software related to telemetry and spying and holy shit it's super fast like new now
planned obsolescence is real.
BABY CRYING COUNTER inside a TV spying on you ffs this shit has to be regulated out of existence
People are using Claude Code and Codex to strip the spyware out of their smart TVs, and it's beautiful.
Jake Stevens removed all of Samsung's tracking from his TV with Codex.
His list of what he switched off reads like a confession the TV makers never meant to give: screenshots of your screen a few times a second to fingerprint what you're streaming, reading your HDMI inputs to do the same thing while you have a game console plugged in, and Bixby wake-word detectors.
He says the TV runs three times faster with the junk gone.
The tracking at the center of this is called automatic content recognition, or ACR. Texas AG Ken Paxton sued Sony, Samsung, LG, Hisense and TCL last December, alleging the software can capture screenshots of your TV display every 500 milliseconds and transmit that data back without your knowledge or consent. The companies then sell it to target ads.
A 2024 study found ACR works even when the smart TV is used as a dumb external display, meaning the game console or laptop you plug in over HDMI gets tracked too. You paid for a screen, and they shipped you a sensor that reports what you watch in your own living room.
Now AI is handing regular people the tools to rip it out. Own your stuff, verify it yourself, and don't trust anyone who profits from watching you.
