You guys!! Have I got an example of extremely poor academic research and how some politically motivated bad takes impact quality of research, featuring beloved court commentator @mjs_DC. This all begins with a claim that a Louisiana court interpreted "I need a lawyer, dog" as /

I find this sparky response to not letting people on welfare to vote so stupid. Farmers are at least being productive to society and there exists quite a few incentives to keep their subsidies in check, unlike government welfare which has no easy break button
Replying to @sigmahamster2
Start by taking away farmers' right to vote then.

I'm sure the situation is very fucked up and all that but I can't imagine being so invested into some podcaster's affairs (literally)
Current speculation of who Ethan cheated with is Tamara Joseph, a 27 year old intern-animator at the podcast. The speculation is basically due to her absence in recent episodes... The H3 crew, including Hila, unfollowed her, and she hasn't engaged with any supportive statements for Hila. So far, Tamara is the only one out of the H3 crew who has not reposted or shared the statement, interacted with Hila's Instagram post, or issued any denial or any comments on social media. There are also rumors of a "poker" related incident... IFYKYK... Currently, there is no confirmed evidence that it's her, but it matches timing, social media patterns, and the "age match". She joined the crew on May 2025, and is someone who is a British Jewish origin. But again. This is speculation. It's also over for Ethan. There is no coming back from this. A man who built his reputation on "doing the right thing" burnt it all down for some foid...

Most horrifying aspect of Dylan Roof's crime is that not only was he welcomed to the Church, but a Congregant even tried to reason with him AFTER he had already killed. Twice God looked down and offered him salvation, a way out and his soul refused.

Let me clarify things: *says exactly the same thing thats been reported* I swear people from the third world rarely have anything of worth to contribute
Stop spreading lies. I am currently working here in Saudi Arabia and I worked in Mecca many times for many years as a Nurse working with the Men in uniform and the protectors of the Two Holy Mosques. I worked in different Saudi JaiIs and, I did not wish to discuss this difficult matter, but I feel compelled to respond to some inaccurate reports regarding the killings of these two individuals from Bangladesh, Nazrul Islam and Sathi Akhtar who both worked for the Bin Laden Company and were cleaners at the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca Mukarramah. The girl resided in Villa Batha Quraish, while the boy lived in Villa Hayy al-Iskan. During their period of duty, a personal relationship developed between the two, and they engaged in an illicit act inside an isolated room on the stairwell between Gates 85 and 87 of Masjid Al-Haram. Nazrul Islam had reportedly asked a friend of his from India to stand guard below. That individual secretly recorded the incident on video. Later, when his own advances towards the woman were not reciprocated, or consent was not given, he released the video publicly. Following its circulation, the incident came to public attention. The Saudi authorities were able to arrest all three individuals involved. The young man from India was sentenced to 20 years in prison and remains incarcerated, while the other two were also detained. Nazrul Islam arrived in Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh between November 10 and 13, 2022. He committed this offense in May 2023, after which he was arrested by the Saudi authorities. He remained in prison from May 2023 until October 2026. The judicial proceedings in this case continued for nearly three and a half to four years. During this entire period, it is the duty of the Saudi government to inform the sponsor and the concerned company; it is not their duty to notify individuals in other countries. Many are claiming that the two had simply gone to perform Umrah and only kissed there. All such stories are entirely false and fabricated. It is true that both were unmarried. But the real question is — if they were unmarried, why were they sentenced to death? The reason is clear: this is Masjid al-Haram. This case is not merely about the punishment for adultery; it is about the grave violation of the sanctity, honor, and holiness of Masjid al-Haram itself. For this very reason, and to set an exemplary precedent, the senior judges of the Supreme Court considered the death penalty to be necessary as a deterrent and accordingly pronounced that sentence. This punishment is in full accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah. What is most astonishing is that even today, we continue to shamelessly circulate falsehoods regarding this matter. As an Islam believer from The Philippines, it is my responsibility to defend my religion and if you continue spreading lies, Over my dead body! Spread love not hate. Allahu Ahlam. ~Copied

The kids arent punished in any meaningful sense of the words. They bear consequences but this is distinct from going out of our way to punish them. Its not like we are sending mom to jail because the kid did something. Bad framework
Replying to @Duderichy
I think his point is that if you put Mom in prison, it punishes the kids, because there are objective developmental delays and problems that form in kids who are separated from Mom too early

Absolutely on the same boat. In 2024 I was an avid, card carrying member of the KHive. Even helped harvest a few ballots of votes from illegals for her campaign. I sang praises for Newsom. No more! The latest Acton ad made me switch from the Party of Harvey Weinstein.
In 2024, I early voted for Kamala Harris. On Friday, I early-voted for Republicans in the 2026 midterms. If you’re a frustrated Republican thinking about staying home, this one’s for you.

Dating apps are full of unspeakable horrors. Once matched with a girl who, after giving me her number, confessed she was 15. When I pressed her on how that is wildly unhealthy, she told me its fine. She had met older men already. She knew what she wanted. Soul crushing stuff

It always is like this. Rich people without accountability or stakes into anything. Best view their left wing views as sociopathic attempts to increase their standing. I dont mean this as a general political indictment. Just this sort of person is dangerous.
“Your shops that got looted were nice, okay, but we’re starving.” People looked this girl up and her dad is a corporate executive who worked for Shell. What a smug psychopath.

Party Monster really is a portal to a moral decripitness beyond redemption. Here we have the author openly fantasizing about pederasty, justifying it. What comes of it? A Hollywood movie & cult status. No adult ever stopped and bothered to say anything? Its outrageous.

Sorry to keep going down this rabbit hole but I can't just ignore something like this. We can't keep having national conversations about the past and just let stuff like this off the hook. This is, frankly, far more egregious and needs to be addressed.

The culture war demands it. Discourse necessitates it. YouTube essayist rely on it happening. There is now a moral obligation to make it so.
combining the Hunter Schafer discourse with the Malfoid discourse by suggesting the former would be a great actress for the latter's role

No joke, this is almost the exact same lecture I got by my most radical leftist ex on the extreme importance of fanfic. Just swap out White for now being able to center the experiences of the marginalized. It was silly when she said it and it is silly now.
Apparently Scott Greer - and numerous other conservative "influencers," "podcasters" and other assorted fauna - need this explained to them: fanfiction is the garden in which potential writers first cultivate their talents. Fiction writing is an incredibly difficult art to master; which is why the average age of debut novelists is 35, and the average age of an author releasing their first best-seller is around 50. It requires intellect, life experience, well-honed technical mastery, and the ability to hold an entire world in one's head, complete with a full cast of imaginary friends that have lengthy conversations with one another. Jumping feet-first into the deep end is effectively impossible; which is why the vast majority of writers start with fan-fiction - even many "original" works are just filing the serial numbers off something else and leaning heavily on genre conventions. It allows the nascent writer to develop their skills in an otherwise stable framework; affords them an opportunity to crawl before they walk. The "Malfoid" phenomena stands out because Harry Potter is the first long piece of fiction (seven books!) that an entire generation read in young adulthood, and perhaps the last work of fiction that achieved nigh-universal readership among an entire generational cohort. For that same cohort, having a story written (or re-written) *for them* is like tasting chocolate for the first time in thirty years, given the publishing industry has been, like so many other institutions, completely captured by the DEI left and has relentlessly purged white male authors from its ranks; leaving what few remain struggling to rise above the churning ocean of half-assed trash that chokes Amazon self-pub. That you and so many other "conservative influencers" knee-jerk response is to sneer at this development reveals a thunderous and damning ignorance on your part of something the left understands innately - the power of narratives. As @Devon_Eriksen_ has explained before, narratives are fundamental to how we mentally model the world. Motives and desires, emotions and reactions, even basic physical cause-and-effect requires a narrative; even if it's as simple as "if I push on this door hard enough, I can open it, and get at the grain that's in the tack room." My goats have figured out that much; which is why they break into the tack room daily even if they can't see the grain, or even the bag that usually has grain in it through the wire mesh. Because of this, narratives are incredibly powerful influences on our thinking - and this is precisely why the left wing is utterly obsessed with controlling every narrative they can get their hands on. It's why they go well out of their way to hunt down anyone in the arts with even the slightest conservative thought and drive them out by any means necessary. Its why they take pains to fill elementary school libraries with sordid books explaining masturbation techniques - they understand that narratives are how children learn almost everything they know of the world; and why so much of their attempts at "serious" art are about as sophisticated as aesop's fables for left-wing values: they absolutely view it as a tool for controlling minds. If you doubt the deliberate intent behold the majority of what they produce, look no further than the coercion California's state government applied to video game giant Blizzard and the results thereof - video games are the one major media form leftists don't have a total stranglehold on, and they're trying to change that. And *why* do leftists have total control of film *and* the publishing industry? In large part thanks to people like you. People who see the first licks of flame among folks who might not have read any fiction in years, drawn in by fond familiarity and a re-write promising a *very* conservative kind of tale; of the power of herteronormative love and good overcoming evil - and promptly unzip and piss all over it. People who can't tell the difference between the synopsis I just gave and 200 pages of lesbian romance featuring a Donut Steele self-insert mary sue. People who can watch normies, desperate for a good story that isn't more DEI wankfest slop, organically pursuing something similar to what leftists do via cold calculation when they infest a previously-great franchise, gut it, and wear it like a skinsuit, but can't appreciate the downstream political implications of that. People who can't grasp that the average normie doesn't want to read your 187 IQ political essay, but just want some honest-to-god entertainment. People who actually think "This is John Gault speaking" is the best part of Atlas Shrugged and wish the rest of the story hadn't been wrapped around it. I suspect people like you are not ensouled. You have no sense of wonder; no imagination, no ability to lose yourself in a great story. You never stayed up as a child reading under the covers with a flashlight well after your bedtime; transported by the tale. And so you cannot recognize that quality when you see it; can neither understand how "kiddie stuff" can contain it, nor recognize true art in its larval form. And indeed, this would dovetail well with how podcasters and influencers act in general; not true believers in anything they say, but grifters, who've figured out that the stupid screaming rubes want their biases confirmed and all you need to do is push the button to make more money come out of the 'chute; viz. Tucker Carlson. And above all, what you can't understand is that good art is, by and large, conservative. Because conservatives write stories, not aesops; they concern themselves with human characters and thus care about the truth of humans' character, rather than treating truth as a blank slate that can be filled with any arbitrary lie desired, and wiped clean and re-written on the spot as desired. People like you seem to think that "conservative" art is a character stopping, turning to the camera, and saying "women's rights," except maybe it's "gun control bad." This borderline-sociopathic lack of empathy leaves you unable to grasp fiction at its most basic level; you might think the classics are important because something something conservative values something something basis of western civilization, or because that one dude sounded real convincing playing a mafioso, but nothing more. And so you sneer out the side of your mouth at creators; confident that you're the Big Serious Adult having Big Thinky Thonks on your podcast, while the youth that will be voting in three years are glued to whatever they can find on Netflix and having that beamed straight into their cerebellums. Art is a vehicle for thought, and most art is not War and Peace by dint of the basics of supply and demand - it takes a year to write a *good* novel and a day to read it. But because it's not Serious enough for you, you cede that ground to the collectivists, willingly, and merrily piss on anyone inspired to change that. Stay in your lane, Scott.

I will defend the STS view a bit. The observation that scientific authority carries a political weight that shapes reality and the world as we understand it is fundamentally correct. The issue with STS is they think deconstructing power is the same as discrediting it
When Climate Change was consider 'big science' and not left coded, a lot of STS academics humiliated themselves in the funniest ways imaginable.

Wrong interpretation. Biden provided generous benefits to political groups that vote Democratic. Teachers, non-profit workers and government employees. It was clever financial gains rewarding political loyalty but it did not benefit students as a whole.
Biden showed there are no political rewards or benefits from canceling student debt or blunting their influence on your credit rating so Trump knows he can get away with abusing student debtors. They have no power or clout and supported Trump against Biden anyway
