AI models learn from huge amounts of data ...but where does that data come from and how do we keep track of who contributed it and the rights behind it?
That’s one of the problems @datafdn is working to address.
With Trace, DATA Foundation helps track the origins of AI training data and the rights attached to it.
But tracking the data is only one part the files also need somewhere to be stored and that’s where Walrus comes in.
Now DATA Network is set to move to Sui, bringing these pieces closer together...
What does this mean for AI training data and how does it all work?

DATA is coming to @SuiNetwork.
The DATA Network and Trace are joining the Sui stack, bringing a live supply of rights-cleared AI training data to infrastructure built for AI workloads.
With 250M+ receipts already recorded by Trace, AI labs will be able to source real-world data with verifiable provenance, while @WalrusProtocol provides the underlying storage layer.
Sui Foundation is investing $30 million in the DATA Network, establishing the largest institutional stake in the network, alongside the continuing holdings of PIP Labs and the DATA Foundation. Furthering the alignment, SY Lee, founder of the DATA Network and CEO of PIP Labs, joins Sui Foundation as Strategic Advisor.
In the coming months:
▸ The DATA Network will be upgraded to run as a protocol natively on Sui
▸ Walrus becomes the default storage layer for DATA Foundation apps
▸ $DATA remains the token of the DATA protocol

PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY: @RBCDigitalGold WHERE IS MY $80 PRIZE?
I won 1st place in the RBC Creator Challenge and was promised $80. I completed the required verification, submitted the requested details, published the winner/experience post, and followed every instruction given to me.
Yet weeks later, I'm still chasing my reward.
On October 1, I confirmed that I had completed all the verification requirements. I followed up on October 5, and on October 8, the team reiterated that I had won first prize.
Since then, we've heard about distribution delays, crypto-to-fiat conversion issues, and now the team being busy with the TGE process. On October 26, we were told someone would check on the rewards in a couple of weeks.
A couple of weeks? After all this waiting, we still don't have a definite payment date?
We participated, created content, invested our time and creativity, and helped bring attention to your project. You even asked us to publish posts celebrating our wins. We did our part. Why are we still struggling to get a clear answer about our rewards?
Nobody told us when the contest was announced that payment would depend on the TGE. If there's a genuine issue delaying payment, communicate it transparently. Stop leaving winners with vague timelines and repeated promises.
And this isn't just about me. Other participants have been asking the same questions. We've been patient and supportive, but patience shouldn't mean waiting indefinitely without accountability.
@RBCDigitalGold @Jash @Harry, we need clear answers. What exactly is delaying the payment? Is anything still pending from our side? And most importantly, WHAT IS THE EXACT DATE WE WILL BE PAID?
I won the $80 prize. I completed the required steps. I'm asking for the reward I was promised.
Creators deserve respect, transparency, and accountability. Announcing winners should mean something.
It's time to stop moving the goalposts and give us a clear payment date.
