As in Toronto, LA uber workers support a limit to licensing. Instead, this province & our city sponsors uber's plan to flood the market with drivers until pay disappears. With that comes other major negative impacts on the environment, traffic, road safety and transit. 👇👇👇
"Last year, Uber drivers made an average of $513 a week in gross earnings, a 3.4% decline from the previous year, even as they worked six minutes more a week on average. For drivers in Los Angeles, average hourly earnings on Uber are down 21%." nytimes.com/2025/05/14/techn…

On Thanksgiving Day Uber & Lyft drivers frustrations with Uber's new upfront pricing controlled by AI that was rolled out on Oct 8, erupted into a protest at Pearson Airport. We have been collecting data from drivers and we are already seeing a reduction in already low pay

Frustration is high with even lower pay, decreasing amount of work available with a city that has had poor regulations. In support of our brothers and sisters who are trying to support their families, we are standing with those drivers who have organized the protest

@OFLabour @CanadianLabour @TowardsFairWork @fairwagesnow @GigWorkersUnite @UniforTheUnion @ontarionurses @cupenat The Uber-pioneered gig work model can and will accelerate not only an attack on workplace rights - but also healthcare privatization.
Hey guys guess what!? There are app-based healthcare worker companies now! We told you it wasn’t just drivers and delivery workers - that they were coming for your job now. If you know an app deployed nurse, have them talk to Katie! And me! I wanna know!

We have issued an advisory to Boycott the 407 ETR for drivers in the GTA as Uber continues to refuse to reimburse drivers for tolls. This has been going on for far too long with some drivers out hundreds of dollars! @Uber_Canada @GigWorkersUnite @ridefairTO @laurakmiller

The gig economy is indicative of the problem. You don't have shitty wages because of migrants, you have shitty wages because the govt lets companies like Uber get away with the hyper-exploitation of all workers, white and black, migrant and non-migrant. xitter.cf/Ben_Wray1989/status/18…
An Uber driver was attacked in Sunderland last night. Ethnic minority couriers & drivers must be weighing up whether it's safe for them to work tonight or not. Deciding between paying bills and staying safe. If you see one tonight, show some solidarity. xitter.cf/jamesfarrar/status/181…

@NYCtaxi sabotaged its well-designed min pay standard for gig drivers this spring by exceeding licensing limits. Experienced drivers are effective at detecting, debunking algorithmic wage suppression & theft schemes - and recommending effective fixes. Not too late to listen!
BREAKING: @Uber & @lyft drivers forcefully reject the agreement that @NYCMayor just announced regarding the companies' lockout campaign. This phony "compromise" is a corporate give-away, not a real solution. If things don't change, a drivers strike is coming to New York City.
